Cardano has a path into the biggest stablecoin alliance in crypto The @Cardano_CF says it is exploring integration with OpenUSD, the 140-company stablecoin consortium backed by Visa, Mastercard, BlackRock, and Stripe. Its bridge is @brale_xyz, an OpenUSD launch partner that already works with the Foundation on compliant native stablecoin issuance. The Foundation says more integration options are being explored, with details to come. OpenUSD is expected to launch in late 2026. $ADA

New on Fintech Brainfood: 🧠 The coin nobody owns. 140 companies just agreed to share a stablecoin. OpenUSD is a play for the trillions of dollars not yet onchain.
"A stablecoin is only as good as its ability to move in and out of local currency." "If I was in any emerging market and I tried to change USDT on Tron versus USDT on Ethereum, I would get way less slippage with USDT on Tron because there's a lot more demand for that." "One thing that these chains forget or don't really realize is the power of distribution, especially local distribution. Having people on the ground that will accept your money and that will trade on your chain." @mansa_mlk at @mansa_fi put the same test to the OpenUSD launch. "I saw the Open USD announcement. It's great. You have some of the world's biggest fintechs. But how about the consumers that actually use it? How are they gonna access it?"

🚨 JUST IN: Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger is live, with 17 banks including Citi, HSBC, UBS, BNP Paribas, BNY, Standard Chartered and Lloyds. This is designed to make money 24/7 between the banks who offer tokenized deposits. Final settlement still completes on existing RTGS rails. But for corporates, money will start to feel like it is truly 24/7. That's a major upgrade. Today, tokenized deposits are closed loops. As a corporate I can move money between any two HSBC accounts at 3am on a Sunday. To move it from HSBC to Citi, I wait for Monday at 9am. That has limited their adoption. Swift's ledger takes that wall down. The name undersells what got built. Swift's own release describes "a secure orchestration layer for bank-issued tokenised deposits on their own ledgers." The banks' systems are the ledgers. @Swift built the orchestration between them, and Swift Orchestrator would be the accurate name. I get why that one lost the naming meeting. Also kudos due for the speed here, from concept to live infrastructure in nine months. From the 53-year-old cooperative trusted to move the equivalent of world GDP every 2 to 3 days across 11,500+ institutions. That's friggin fast for anyone, and for Swift it's a statement. Don't bet against the banks here. Don't bet against Swift. Look at the names, though. Citi, BNY and Wells Fargo are in Swift's 17 AND in the tokenized deposit network The Clearing House plans to launch in 2027 with JPMorgan, BofA and Barclays. (JPMorgan sits outside Swift's 17. It already has Kinexys.) Then there's GBPT, Zelle's stablecoin, OpenUSD. The megabanks are backing multiple orchestration layers at once. More closed loops are coming, and how these networks interoperate with each other is where this gets very, very interesting. But again, congrats SWIFT Nick Kerigan et all. I was dubious. I was wrong.

The @openstandard vision for Open USD as a new stablecoin for global money movement just makes sense. @AptosLabs as a launch partner, further positioning @Aptos as the full stack for markets and machines, just makes sense. It may be stablecoin summer, but it's cold at the peak.
