I'm semi-fasting today; light, healthy, raw food and fresh coconut 🥥 water. And before you respond with " you need protein" and all the other blah blah blah, this isn't all I eat. I am not strictly vegan.

🚨 A Japanese scientist earned a Nobel Prize after discovering one of the body’s most powerful self-healing mechanisms: during periods of fasting, the human body begins to consume its own damaged cells, triggering a deep cellular reset known as autophagy. This natural process acts like an internal cleanup system, breaking down old proteins, malfunctioning components, and toxic buildup that contribute to aging and disease. The discovery revealed that fasting doesn’t just change metabolism — it activates a fundamental survival program hard-wired into our biology.
Researchers found that autophagy boosts cellular renewal, supports immune function, protects against neurodegeneration, and improves overall resilience. When the body isn’t busy digesting food, it shifts focus to maintenance and repair, recycling damaged parts into fresh, healthy components. This helps reduce inflammation, sharpen brain function, and improve the body’s ability to handle stress. Some studies even show that activating autophagy may lower the risk of chronic conditions linked to aging.
The Nobel-winning research transformed how scientists view fasting, turning it from a simple diet trend into a legitimate biological reset. Doctors now say intermittent fasting — when done safely — can help support long-term cellular health, boost energy, and improve metabolic balance. While it’s not a cure-all, the discovery showed that the body has extraordinary built-in abilities to heal itself when given the right conditions.
For millions around the world, the research opened a new window into how deeply our lifestyle affects our cells — and how something as simple as timing our meals can unlock one of the body’s most powerful repair systems.

Myth: all stress is harmful and should be minimized.
Resistance training, cold exposure, fasting, and sauna are all forms of stress. Applied at the right dose and followed by recovery, they produce stronger, more resilient biological systems. This is called hormesis.
The problem is not stress. It is chronic unrelenting stress without recovery. Dose and recovery determine whether stress builds you or breaks you.

One thing I have never really understood in some Islamic settings is religious police. Where I come from, we call them Hisbah.
I don't understand why someone's prayer, fasting, hijab or even what they choose to sell should become the business of religious police. You can teach people. You can advise them. You can tell them what Islam says. But why should the state force a person to practise?
Because this is where I struggle with the whole idea. If a person only prays because he knows someone will punish him, or a woman wears hijab because she knows she will be arrested without it, what exactly have we achieved?
You didn't make them believe. You only made them obey.
And if religion needs the police to make people obey it, then maybe we should be honest about what we are actually defending.

Pastor Jentezen Franklin delivers remarks at Rededicate 250 on the National Mall:
"I want to tell you that Elijah, through prayer, through fasting, he fasted for 40 days. Fasting seeds the clouds for revival. And you can't see them, but even your physical posture of humility being here saying, "God, we need you on the 250th anniversary. We need you in our nation. We need you."
We're sowing seeds for future generations. Every time you clap your hands in praise to God, you're seeding, and invisible vapors are going up, forming clouds over the White House, forming clouds over the Supreme Court, forming clouds over the Congress."

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard delivers remarks at Rededicate 250 on the National Mall:
"250 years ago today, on May 17th, 1776, the Second Continental Congress called for a day of humility, fasting, and prayer. Just weeks before they declared independence, our founders didn't stride forward in pride. They knelt. They asked for God's mercy. They asked for His guidance because they knew that the cause before them was beyond their own strength.
Now today, exactly 250 years later, we gather here on the National Mall to do the same, to give thanks, to ask for forgiveness, and to humbly ask once more for God's mercy and guidance as we enter the next 250 years of this republic."

Your mitochondria are not just energy producers. They are the primary sensors of cellular health and the gatekeepers of whether a cell lives, adapts, or dies.
Mitochondrial density declines with age, sedentary behavior, chronic stress, and poor sleep. The result is less cellular energy production, slower recovery, and reduced metabolic rate at rest.
What rebuilds mitochondrial density: Zone 2 cardio, resistance training, fasting, cold exposure, and adequate sleep. These inputs are not additive. They are synergistic when combined.

Global Prayer Defies China’s Escalating War on Christians
More than 6,000 believers from Japan, South Korea, the United States, Australia, and beyond joined a global prayer gathering on August 9, 2026, at Living Jesus Church in Osaka and online.
ChinaAid President Bob Fu outlined four intensifying trends of persecution under the CCP’s “Sinicization” policy: dismantling major house churches such as Early Rain and Beijing Zion, criminalizing ordinary worship and collecting biometric data, labeling entire congregations criminal organizations, and extending repression overseas through surveillance and intimidation.
Pastor Yang Jun shared the pain of his wife’s imprisonment and family separation while urging prayer for the “Zion 8.”
The monthly fasting-and-prayer movement calls the worldwide church to stand with them.
