The @VirginiaDWR board voted 6-4 today to raise hunting and fishing license fees effective Oct. 1. Board members said they don't want to raise fees but have no other choice in order to repay the $6.9 million loan the agency took out from the state.

You couldn’t make up a better allegory for the disproportionality in state funding between policing and public housing
This morning, bright and early at 6 a.m., the Virginia State Police trooper trainees ran a mile to the Capitol Building.
I met them there to congratulate them on finishing their VSP academy training and to present them with the final piece of their uniform, a hat pin.
On behalf of a grateful Commonwealth, I commend these graduates for their commitment to protecting and serving Virginians.
