The U.S. Treasury is on the brink, and the Strait of Hormuz will never be the same again.
Whatever your politics, one thing is now clear: any future attack on Iran comes with an economic price tag Washington can no longer pretend doesn't exist.
Iran has sent Trump and Netanyahu a message they'll have to factor into every future decision:
Think twice before attacking Iran again.

Iran says talks with Oman on a temporary safe route are in their final stages.
Notably, the United States is not part of these discussions. The Strait of Hormuz is ultimately a regional waterway, and any long-term arrangements will be negotiated by the states that border it - not by Donald Trump.

Iran hasn't bowed to Donald Trump, and he's running out of options.
He's threatened Iran. The U.S. has launched military strikes. They've piled on sanctions, applied maximum pressure, and hoped internal unrest would bring down the government.
None of it has worked.
It's time for Trump to admit that coercion has failed and surrender.

The U.S. needs to step back from the Middle East.
Whether Trump likes it or not, Iran and the Arab Gulf states are permanent neighbours. Geography dictates that they will have to coexist, and over time, that means finding areas of accommodation.
Ultimately, regional stability will depend far more on reconciliation between its own states than on outside powers.

The Iranian people overthrew the Shah in 1979. The will of the people drove foreign interference out of their nation.
Before that, in 1953, the UK and U.S. backed a military coup that removed Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh after he nationalised Iran's oil industry.
Now you're trying to do again. But this time round, Donald Trump miscalculated that Iran IS the Islamic Republic.

@Bushra1Shaikh I've been saying it since 1979 when they invaded the US Embassy.

IRAN IS THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC.

Not only is Rupert Lowe a nasty Islamophobe who attracts the hard-line anti-Muslim dregs of society, he is also a beg.
If an MP was to say the things he does about Islam about any other religion, they'd have been kicked out of Parliament by now.
I'm no fan of Nigel Farage, but bringing Lowe back into Reform UK could prove to be political suicide.

Here's Donald Trump's masterclass in The Art of the Deal:
Announce an attack on Iran, cancel the attack, then negotiate a deal - all with yourself.
Some of the worst crimes ever committed in history were carried out by people who identified as Christians.
Yet figures like Elon Musk rarely seem to bring that up when discussing religion and violence.

Rupert Lowe is a fringe extremist. If Reform UK wants a chance at the next general election, it will need to continue distancing itself from him and the vile racist, Islamophobic rhetoric that he spews all day long.

Trump says he is cancelling strikes on Iran subject to 'rapidly' making deal
The bigger reason for Donald Trump cancelling an attack on Iran is the risk of losing control of the conflict.
U.S. missile stockpiles are under pressure. Inventory of Patriot interceptors has fallen from 2,200 before the war to fewer than 827, and THAAD missiles from 452 to fewer than 278.
A strike on Iran could quickly trigger a wider regional war involving multiple actors, from Lebanon and Gaza, to the Houthis in Yemen and place additional pressure on Saudi Arabia.
Washington no longer as the realistic ability to sustain a wider conflict.
