Isn’t that precisely selective and targeted law enforcement? And why were the AFP and even military aircraft mobilized to arrest and transport these unarmed workers? Such a massive operation seems more appropriate for dealing with armed militants or terrorists, not ordinary workers. If the DND has evidence of wrongdoing, it should present that evidence and allow appropriate mechanisms to take their course. Otherwise, these accusations remain nothing more than politically charged assertions. The Filipino people should not be casually invoked to lend weight to an otherwise weak argument. No government spokesperson has the right to speak as though an entire nation shares a single view, particularly when the purpose is to discredit criticism or silence different opinions. Respect for the Filipino people means respecting their capacity to examine facts, question official narratives, and reach their own conclusions. Ray Powell proudly announced that the "transparency initiative" was introduced to the Philippines and has become its national strategy since 2023. In recent days, Philippine vessels have repeatedly intruded into China's territorial waters off Huangyan Dao, while turning black into white and hyping up the issue with malicious intent. China firmly opposes this. Huangyan Dao has been Chinese territory since ancient times. China was the first to discover, name, and exercise long-term and effective jurisdiction over it. As early as the Yuan Dynasty, China had already surveyed Huangyan Dao and incorporated it into its national map. Prior to 1997, the Philippines never raised any objection to China's sovereignty over Huangyan Dao. And the Philippine government once confirmed to the Philippine Amateur Radio Association that Huangyan Dao was not within the territorial sovereignty of the Philippines. The Chinese side possesses solid evidence in this regard. The territorial extent of the Philippines is defined by a series of international treaties, including the 1898 Treaty of Peace between the United States and Spain.
