HUGE NEWS for Tesla @Robotaxi SCALE in Texas! My dad and I were picking up my car from the service center and ended up in a conversation with a sales rep in the showroom. We talked about how we loved the Robotaxi, and pulled a casual "boy I wish we could get a Robotaxi in other parts of Houston..." I wish I could record what he said after. He essentially said: So we will be launching on freeways next and that will "unlock" the rest of the locations for Houston, Austin, and Dallas. We asked if there is currently any timeline on that, and the sales rep said "its coming very soon, but we take safety here at Tesla seriously and want to make sure everythings fine before expansions" I told him that my Robotaxi goes on feeder roads to highways already and it does great, he nodded. He also gave details about how many cars are actually running in Houston simultaneously. He said 12 cars run at the same time, which aligns with my observation of a couple weeks ago in which I counted 13 individual plates on Houston roads within a 1 hour time frame. I feel this gives the sales rep some credibility. This brings the question, why are there 12 cars on the road, when the service center lot has a lot more than that parked during the day? Last night (waiting for my Uber), I asked a guy cleaning the Robotaxi windows, and it led to him saying a geofence expansion is coming soon. He says this as he is cleaning about 30 Robotaxi's windows. Two people working there saying the same things give the sales rep's statement more credibility. What this tells me is that Robotaxi doesn't want to expand geofences in cities other than Austin until highways are unlocked. Houston is so big of a city, it takes 1 hour to get from end to end using the highway! Imagine if we couldn't utilize the highway, its a waste of time. This makes complete sense to me. This news comes after they recently launched night hours for the robotaxi geofences. The next step according to the sales rep are highways which will reportedly UNLOCK the rest of the city for Austin, Dallas, and Houston!

TxDOT’s proposed 36A South highway (Needville to I-10) runs through the same Fairchilds area where Tesla wants to build Project Crystal Sun, the $10.1B solar factory near FM 762/FM 1994. Public meetings Aug 18 & 20. Maps are up. Worth watching if you’re following the factory. I grew up in the area and live close currently. The current roads are paved farm roads for the most part so this makes sense. Happy seeing our tax dollars going to support US/TX manufacturing and over 9,000 permanent jobs!

Dang, Houston needs to catch up!
I just found 105 Tesla Cybercab’s in Dallas, TX with @scotsrule08 All at once happening soon
Terafab will be built in Grimes County, Texas In April, we broke ground on our research fab on the North Campus of Giga Texas – the precursor to Terafab. Both Tesla & SpaceX will need far more chips than current & future global production can supply. This is why we're building the largest chip manufacturing facility ever, with the goal of producing over 1 terawatt of compute per year The future is built in Texas

This is FSD’s Houston final boss. It is the most complicated, congested, and tightest driving in Houston. The Houston Medical Center When FSD solves The Med Center Tesla would be ready for anything It has: Pedestrians (normal and delusional) Trains (left hand turn on tracks) Traffic (like no other) Cops (directing traffic) Construction (tight areas, with cops, and crazy pedestrians) Ambulances, police cars, fire trucks Unique pedestrian signs and tight blind corridors Medical school All packed in what must be a square mile I drove through this morning around shift change, FSD did decent but holy cow it’s crazy Give that area a whirl if you have a free hour between 8 and 9am. Excitement guaranteed, go drive by Baylor med school it’s wild. Feel free to DM me if you want my vin to get that FSD data, I’ll likely hit this area again on my way into work. It’s great rich data. @aelluswamy @Tesla_AI @yunta_tsai

Perfecting the overnight mode on Grok Build to keep the main agent context clean, dropping compaction from 3 times to 1. Prompt: "Overnight mode on: . The role of the orchestrator is to a) make high-level strategy decisions, b) make sure sub-agents deliver useful information and keep going, c) validate sub-agent results (fan out another sub-agent as a validator), and make the next move."
