Samsung Fab site visit with @DavidMoss. Taylor, Texas. Home to the $44 billion campus where Tesla’s AI5 and AI6 chips will be built on Samsung’s 2nm process. Taylor just might change in a big way.

Third and final autonomy ride of the night for @Tryangle in Dallas, this time with @Avrideai. After hitting Waymo and Tesla Robotaxi earlier in the evening, we wrapped it up with his first Avride. If you’re not familiar: Avride started as Yandex’s (Russia’s Google equivalent) self-driving division. They currently run a few hundred supervised robotaxis in Texas.

One year ago, @Tryangle and I met while chasing Robotaxis around Austin on launch day. Today, I got to join him for his first-ever Unsupervised @robotaxi ride in Dallas. Crazy that a chance meeting over Robotaxis turned into a great friendship!

Our review of @gravitymobility’s Gravity Charging Center… and it ended with us being kicked out. We needed one final charge to 100% before starting our Autonomous Cannonball attempt from NYC to LA. Instead, @DavidMoss, @OwenSparks, and I were told to leave while the charging connector was still locked into the car at 99%. Watch the full story and our complete review.

Tesla has just released an updated version (v1.1) of its Cybercab First Responder Interaction Plan. Here are the changes from the previous version: • The dedicated Tesla Robotaxi First Responder Support phone number has been updated. • A new caption was added below the First Responder QR Code stating: “Example QR code. Label may vary or appear different depending on region.” • In the Operational Design Domain section, the word “offroad” was updated to “off-road” (“Cybercab Robotaxi is also not designed to operate off-road”). Overall very minor updates which aligns with the recent Model Y Robotaxi updates as well.

Not once during our entire 2,886-mile autonomous cannonball did we use a V2 Supercharger. Every stop delivered a solid charging session, and the network coverage let us stay on the optimal charge curve the whole way. A special thanks to @MdeZegherand the entire @TeslaCharging team! The network just keeps getting better!

NYC to LA Cannonball with Tesla FSD is done! @DavidMoss, @OwenSparks, and I are proud to announce that we have broken the record for the fastest fully autonomous drive from New York City to Los Angeles! We left the Red Ball Garage in New York, NY 47 hours, 15 minutes, and 39 seconds ago, and now have ended in Redondo Beach, CA at the Portofino Hotel (2,886 miles / 4,645 km) This was accomplished with Tesla FSD v14.3.6, beating the previous record of 49:55:57 by 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 18 seconds, with absolutely zero disengagements. Huge thanks to @AlexRoy144 for years of inspiration. Thank you to all of the teams at @Tesla, with particular shout-outs to @Tesla_AI and @TeslaCharging for their phenomenal efforts. This would not have been possible without them.

NEWS: Tesla trained first responders in Irving, Coppell, DFW Airport, and Grand Prairie on interacting with Autonomous Vehicles, including the Model Y and Cybercab. Tesla already operates Robotaxi in Dallas. Similar first-responder training sessions preceded launches in Miami, Austin, and other cities. This could signal a major expansion of Robotaxi coverage across the broader Dallas area. The Irving Fire Department says Tesla will provide additional training in the future. NEWS: Tesla has just released an updated version (v1.4) of its Model Y Robotaxi First Responder Interaction Plan. Here are the key changes from the previous version: • A dedicated First Responder Support line has replaced the general Roadside Assistance number. • Tesla added a new detail clarifying that hazard lights do not flash when the Robotaxi is charging. • The document now explicitly states that while waiting for a new ride booking, the Model Y Robotaxi roams its area of operation. • The “Moving the Vehicle” section was significantly expanded, distinguishing between pushing the vehicle in minimal risk scenarios and driving it when operable. • The response team handling collisions has been renamed from the “Field Response Team” to the “Rapid Response Team.” • The document consistently replaced generic references to “Robotaxi” with “Model Y Robotaxi” throughout the entire guide. • The hood was added to the list of items that Tesla can remotely unlock for first responders. Tesla Robotaxi Cleaning Robot update: The Robotaxi Hub in Austin now has a cleaning robot built into the facility. Permit TABS2025022006 explicitly lists a cleaning robot in the scope of work alongside Superchargers and an Equipment Inspection System. Tesla teased the automated cleaning system last year. It is now permitted and built. The hub completed construction in March 2026.
