Mars Sample Return mission is dead in the latest funding agreement. Which means China will likely beat the US to returning the first samples from Mars. Perseverance has collected the best samples it could, and those will remain on Mars for a long time.
But it had become ridiculously expensive, partly because political support from Congress allowed it to.

A couple of weeks ago I toured @boomsupersonic with @bscholl and got to see their first engine core in person.
It’s great to see this being built even if the supersonic airliner is still a thing of the future.

I just had a great tour of @boomsupersonic with @bscholl and while I got to sit in the XB-1 and make jet engine noises the real highlight was checking out the first Symphony engine core being assembled for testing.
