THE BOY WHO BOUGHT ONE BREAD
1/
Every morning, a little boy walked into the same bakery and bought one loaf of bread.
He always paid with coins.
He always smiled.
And he always asked the same question:
“Is there any work I can do for the bread?”
2/
The baker, Mr. Thomas, would shake his head.
“You're too young. Just take the bread.”
But the boy never stopped asking.
3/
One rainy morning, the boy arrived soaking wet.
Mr. Thomas noticed his shoes had holes in them.
“Where do you live?”
The boy pointed toward an old abandoned building.
4/
“Where are your parents?”
The boy lowered his head.
“My mother died last year.”
“And your father?”
“He left.”
Mr. Thomas didn't ask another question.
He packed two loaves instead of one.
5/
The next morning, the boy returned.
He placed a small envelope on the counter.
“What is this?” Mr. Thomas asked.
“Payment.”
Inside were a few coins.
“I don't want free bread.”
6/
Mr. Thomas smiled.
“You don't owe me anything.”
The boy shook his head.
“My mother taught me that if someone helps you, you should never become comfortable taking.”
7/
Those words stayed with Mr. Thomas.
So he made the boy an offer.
“Come after school. I'll teach you how to bake.”
The boy's eyes lit up.
8/
Years passed.
The boy learned everything.
How to knead dough.
How to manage money.
How to treat customers.
Most importantly, he learned how to treat people with dignity.
9/
Twenty years later, Mr. Thomas became too old to run the bakery.
He called the boy—now a successful young man—into his office.
“I want you to have it.”
10/
The young man stared at him.
“I can't afford this.”
Mr. Thomas laughed.
“You already paid for it.”
“With what?”
Mr. Thomas pointed to an old envelope sitting on his desk.
11/
It was the same envelope containing those few coins from twenty years ago.
“You paid me with honesty,” he said.
“Everything else was my investment in you.”
12/
The young man took the keys.
Then he did something unexpected.
He opened the bakery's doors to children who needed work and mentorship.
And every morning, he kept one loaf of bread aside.
For anyone who couldn't afford one.

Because sometimes, the smallest kindness you show someone becomes the reason they change their entire life.
Never underestimate what your kindness can build in someone.
You may forget what you did for them.
But they may remember it forever.

My boss told me today that "time is money." So I asked for my paycheck in minutes and seconds, and now HR wants to have a "sync."
If we can’t go raw, then we shouldn’t be doing it in the first place.
School counselor: Why didn’t you come to me when you were having problems?
Student: I thought you were going to tell my parents.
Counselor: I’m literally the person you’re supposed to talk to.
Student: Yeah… but I already told TikTok.
Counselor: I need a new job😭

Worked in a tech startup up, selling security software to small-medium businesses. Because of the deal figures being signed, the sales team were given 10% commission. One day a sales dude took a punt, which spitballed into a $16m deal.
Allegedly, the company consulted lawyers and all sorts to try and get off the commission, no bueno. Dude got his pay out - he maxed out his pre-tax pension contribution (to avoid excessive tax). Bought a modest house outright and invested the rest.
He knew he wasn’t retiring early etc on that but with no mortgage and plenty of savings/investments, his life is very lax. He works part time on jobs he likes the look of and enjoys life.
That’s the dream to most of us
