No one in Wisconsin’s Sixth District should have to pay higher electricity bills to subsidize the infrastructure needed for a data centers.
That’s why I’m supported the Ratepayer Protection Act. As America leads the AI race, we need to ensure these major investments don’t leave families and small businesses footing the bill for the energy infrastructure they require.

Wednesday night Republicans AND Democrats came together to say families shouldn’t be stuck paying for the massive energy needs of data centers.
Not even 24 hours later, Senate Democrats blocked my bipartisan Ratepayer Protection Act from moving forward in the Senate.
Data centers should pay for the infrastructure they need — not hardworking Americans.
Senate Democrats need to get out of the way and let us lower costs for American families.

Senate Democrats are voting against the very constituents they claim to represent.
American families deserve to be shielded from rising data center energy costs. The Ratepayer Protection Act would have done just that.

Yesterday, the Ratepayer Protection Act passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support, 417-3. I was proud to support this legislation because hardworking Americans should not be forced to pay higher electric bills to power massive data centers.
Data centers should pay for the electricity they use, period.
It’s extremely frustrating that Senate Democrats are now blocking a bill that passed the House with such a strong display of bipartisanship. Apparently, lowering electric bills for their constituents isn’t a priority for Senate Democrats.

Strengthening our grid will require commonsense permitting reform.
