Yosemite National Park once saw more than 120 days of traffic gridlock a year. So far in 2026? TWO. 🤯 Smart innovation is making a real difference. Saturday waits at the gate that once stretched to 3 hours are now typically under 30 minutes, even as visitation is UP 12%. Less time staring at brake lights. More time staring at Half Dome.

You might want to turn your volume up for this one. That's the unmistakable bellow of an American alligator. During the breeding season, male alligators produce these deep, booming calls to announce their presence, attract females, and let rivals know who's occupying the territory. Just over two years ago, we lost a bright young girl whose love for animals and nature left a lasting mark. Jocelyn Nungaray believed every creature deserved a safe place to call home. Today, her compassion lives on at the Jocelyn Nungaray National Wildlife Refuge, a home for wildlife and a place for people to enjoy nature. May her kindness continue to inspire us all to protect the natural world and see the beauty in every living thing. Photos by USFWS and Alexis Nungaray
