A familiar face, in a new role. We’re pleased to welcome Nick Clarke as Intersect’s Director of Cardano Technology. A mathematician turned functional programmer turned Jack-of-all-trades, Nick has been involved in Cardano since 2018 and the Byron rewrite. Along the way, he helped establish the ledger team, contributed significantly to the ledger core and Praos protocol, worked on Cardano node release management, and most recently served as Director of Engineering at Tweag. Nick has also been contributing to Intersect since its formation, including as Chair of the Open Source Committee, a member of the Technical Steering Committee, and through helping establish and subsequently serve on the Security Council. In his new role, @nc_cardano will lead Intersect’s technical coordination team across the range of support, stewardship and services we provide to Cardano and its technical ecosystem. Over the next six months, that will include taking a lead role in coordinating the Dijkstra upgrade, alongside continuing to strengthen our security and incident response capability. There’s a lot of important work ahead, and we’re pleased to have Nick leading it - welcome!

van Rossem hard fork update 🍴 The van Rossem hard fork has been successfully enacted on Cardano Mainnet! 🎉 We would like to take a moment to recognise the work of the Hard Forking Working Group to get us to this moment. Coordinating ecosystem partners, SPOs, DApps, developers and exchanges, across multiple networks to ensure a safe Mainnet event. We would also like to thank DReps, SPOs and CC members for voting to ratify the hard fork initiation action. The first hard fork that DReps have been able to vote on, in addition to SPOs and the CC.

As many in the community will know, EMURGO has recently been focused on managing the SecondFi incident. As a result, EMURGO has informed us that it is unable to allocate the necessary resources to plan and execute Token2049. Intersect has received and reviewed a request from EMURGO to transfer delivery responsibility for Token2049 to the Cardano Foundation. Following discussions between EMURGO, the Cardano Foundation and Intersect, this transfer has now been mutually agreed and accepted. In our role as administrator, Intersect’s priority is to support delivery of what was approved by DReps and outlined in the governance action metadata. Given the timing of the event, the need to act pragmatically, and the importance of avoiding unnecessary delivery uncertainty, we believe this is the right course of action. The Cardano Foundation has agreed to deliver Token2049 in line with the approved scope. Both @emurgo_io and Intersect regard @Cardano_CF as a reputable and capable ecosystem partner with a strong track record of delivering major events to the expected standard. Delivery of Token2049 is now transitioning to the Cardano Foundation and we look forward to seeing Token2049 delivered in October.

The Cardano Critical Integrations (CCI V1) closure report is now live. Delivered collaboratively by members of the "Pentad" including @Cardano_CF, @emurgo_io, @IOGroup, @midnightfdn, and Intersect, CCI V1 brought four major integrations live or into final implementation: • USDCx by Circle • LayerZero • Pyth Network • Dune Analytics The report provides a shared account of what ₳70M in community approved funding delivered, how funds were administered, lessons learned, and the path toward CCI V2. A major milestone for Cardano's infrastructure and institutional readiness.
