Incredible milestone, congrats to the whole @Tether team! @paoloardoino
Wen Tether audit? nOw. Today Tether announces its first full financial audit for Tether International, conducted by KPMG U.S. which resulted in an unqualified clean opinion, marking the highest result possible. An unqualified opinion is the best possible audit opinion an independent auditor can issue. (“unqualified” in accounting jargon means without reservations — not that the audit was incomplete). Tether’s financial audit, by at least an order of magnitude, is the largest inaugural audit in the history of finance. My congratulations go to the entire Tether team and especially to our Finance function, which demonstrated its ability, precision and commitment to complete this review process within the highest standards across the whole digital assets and global financial industry. We couldn’t be more proud. Despite our Company being subject to several years of detractors’ false claims, competitors lies, political attacks and misinformed coverage by several mainstream newspapers trying desperately to discredit us for the benefit of their friends in the tall ivory towers, Tether delivered what it promised: a full financial audit issued by a Big Four accounting firm, KPMG U.S. Tether created the stablecoin industry with USD₮ in 2014, revolutionizing the whole financial industry. Today everyone talks about stablecoins, yet it all started 12 years ago, with a tiny team and a big mission. We were there when no one else could understand the disruptive potential of what we invented. Our Company has evolved into one of the most financially significant and operationally sophisticated private companies in the world. This audit demonstrates that our financial infrastructure and governance have evolved alongside that responsibility. Today, more than 650 million users across all emerging markets continue to rely on Tether daily, choosing USD₮ as their currency, for their life savings, for their commerce, for the future of their children. These are people that have been left behind by the traditional financial system and they trust our Company to remain resilient amidst all the global uncertainty that plagues the world - the proof of that stability is no longer just a Tether promise; it's now an independent signed opinion. “Never cared for what they say Never cared for games they play Never cared for what they do Never cared for what they know And I know Nothing Else Matters”

Federally chartered, OCC-supervised banks shouldn’t need another bank just to access the Federal Reserve’s payment systems. Anchorage Digital Bank COO @RachelAnderika makes the case for a simple principle: Same charter. Same supervision. Same access.

No CFO hands a new hire the company treasury. They hand them a corporate card with a limit, and the limit grows with trust. Agents should be onboarded the same way: segmented accounts, scoped permissions, spending caps. We've known how to delegate money for a long time. Now it has to work for software.

When corporations became economic actors, the questions weren't about whether the org chart was smart enough. They were: who signs, under what authority, and who's liable. The moment an agent can move money, the same questions apply. Old questions. New counterparty.

We asked Nathan McCauley (@nathanmccauley), co-founder and CEO of @Anchorage, about the state of agentic payments today, and where this technology is headed. His insights. 👇

The idea in this paper I find most clarifying: an agent without a bank account is an advisor. An agent with one is an economic actor. Everything else follows from that line, segmented accounts, spending limits, verified merchants, a human attached to the liability. Intelligence gets an agent to a decision. Rails let it act on one.

“Who banks the agents?” It's the question I get asked most right now. My answer has less to do with how smart the models are, and more to do with identity, controls, and accountability. We wrote the full answer down.

It has been a tough week for a lot of longtime holders who set things up carefully years ago and had every reason to believe they were fine. As more of America adopts crypto, it is worth keeping in mind that this is a case where you have to get it all right. Things can appear to be working for a while and still fail.

Tokenizing an asset means running the legacy stack and a new one on top of it, so the cost lands at 101%. Synthetic exposure is winning on volume because it skips the expensive part. A perp carries no such bill. Tokenization wins the volume argument the day an institution retires the old ledger and that is a decision nobody has made yet.

The U.S. capital markets are the envy of the world because clear and sensible rules give everyone the confidence to participate. Market structure legislation brings that same foundation to digital assets, and the Senate has a floor-ready bill in front of it. Crypto and regulation are two sides of the same token.

We filed our comment letter with the Federal Reserve this week on their proposed Payment Account framework. Our view: Anchorage Digital Bank is the first federally chartered, OCC supervised national crypto bank, and federal supervision, not deposit insurance status, should be what determines access to the Fed's payment rails. We think the Board can get there, and we're glad they're taking comments seriously.

People assume the hard part of agentic finance is intelligence. It isn't. The hard part is delegation: what an agent can do, who it can pay, how much it can move, and when a human has to step in. Banks have underwritten delegated authority for centuries. The counterparty is what's new.

We just celebrated 1 year of GENIUS earlier this month. What's changed since then? - Stablecoins are doing more volume than ACH - 2 of 3 top stablecoin issuers are now issuing tokens in the US - Banks and non-crypto native businesses are using them en masse - Much more! I had the opportunity to speak with @nathanmccauley about it's impacts. We also chatted tokenization and CLARITY. One of my favorite episodes so far. The last time humanity invented a new kind of economic actor, we called it the corporation. It could own assets, sign contracts, and carry liability, and banking had to be rebuilt around it. AI agents are the next new economic actor. And no economic actor in history has been fully realized while unbanked.
