I disagree with you here. I think stock dividend tokens open up a lot of possibilities that we haven’t really seen before, and I honestly think we’re still very early. It doesn’t necessarily have to be about stocks specifically either, token dividends in general can create new narratives, stronger incentives to hold, and in some cases may fit the concept or meme behind a token much better than a traditional cashback mechanism. It could also be an interesting way to onboard more normies by giving them exposure to stocks and other assets they already understand simply through holding a memecoin. For the average person who isn’t deep into crypto, it’s hard to understand the appeal of a memecoin when there’s nothing behind it and you don’t actually get anything from holding it. Adding tangible utility or rewards could make that concept much easier to understand. (ansem talked about that too.) On top of that, I think there are a lot of potential ways to use this to reward and strengthen existing communities as well. Check out what Ansem is doing, for example. I’m still not fully convinced about pairing memecoins directly with stocks, though. There might be something there, but right now the pools are pretty weak, they aren’t very tradable, and it’s difficult for people to build on top of them compared to the familiar pump tokens.
