Making Nuclear Power Transportable

Our Chief Nuclear Officer @RitaB66 took a minute to grab a selfie with attendees at our Oak Ridge event - because moments like this are meant to be shared with the community. Thank you to the @ORChamber and everyone who joined us to learn about our R-50 manufacturing facility and the future of energy!

Our President & COO @torishiv was live on Bloomberg to discuss our $750M Janus award, what it means for the military and American energy independence 🇺🇸
Thanks for having us on to discuss the Janus program and our $750M award! @CNBC @torishiv
The @USArmy has awarded Radiant $750 million to deliver 15 Kaleidos microreactors through the Janus program, one of the largest contracts @DIU_x has issued to date. The Army launched the Janus Program to strengthen the energy resilience of military installations and mission-critical infrastructure. Radiant was chosen after extensive evaluation of reactor design, technical maturity, manufacturing readiness, deployment strategy, and commercial viability. Radiant’s 15 microreactors will enable the Army to deploy nuclear power across multiple locations. In tandem, the operational data acquired through the Program will accelerate commercial deployments across a global footprint of commercial customers. Learn more:

Kaleidos is making history. The @INL DOME hasn't hosted a new reactor design test since EBR-II shut down in the 1990s. That's roughly 30 years without this kind of hands-on, full-power testing & validation of new nuclear technology on U.S. soil. That changes today. Radiant earned this spot through a competitive DOE down-select, evaluated on design maturity and execution readiness against the rest of the field. We were assessed as the most mature company in the space, and we now hold exclusive use of DOME for full-scale, full temperature commercial testing. Proud doesn't quite cover it. @NRICnuclear Let's get to work!

The uranium in our Kaleidos reactor is a "child of the stars", forged by neutron stars formed in the milky way... which you can see here, on our way to the @INL DOME.
The road to @INL DOME – we were chosen for the maturity of our product and our path to commercialization.
When we were selected for the DOME, it was a competitive process that pitted us against 40+ companies. We competed 3 times. FEEED, DEED, and final selection. We were chosen for the maturity of our product and our path to commercialization. That vision we build for at Radiant is not on the horizon, it’s driving down the 395. Kaleidos is transportable and on the way to the DOME!

This is what transportable looks like.
Kaleidos wasn’t built as a concept. Our team has been ruthlessly focused on our customers. We designed and built around their needs. They want power to be easy. Deliver it to their site. Plug it in. Simple. Our first delivery is in 2028.

Kaleidos has left the building! Our transportable microreactor is on its way to @INL's DOME facility, where it will begin full-scale testing.  Over the coming months, we'll validate commercial performance through a full-scale, full-power extended-duration testing program that progresses in 5 phases:  -Install and fuel Kaleidos  -Reach zero-power criticality  -Sustain 1MW thermal operation  -Full-temperature and full-power operation  -150-hours continuous operation  In 2020, our CEO @DougBernauer said we’d have a reactor at the DOME in 2026 - and we will!

🤩 Presented to @NASAAdmin yesterday and didn’t fangirl. Someone give me a 🏆. 😅 @RadiantNuclear’s 14-month reactor design-build cycle makes a fueled LR-1 ground test in 2028 feasible, and we stand ready to work with @NASA and @ENERGY, & @GovNuclear to deliver on that timeline.

“One of our units is five years of power in a box, that just gets delivered. Fits in a few parking spaces. Whenever you want us to take it away - we take it away….which hasn’t been done before. It’s only possible if you make a size about 1MW.”

Radiant: Beyond Prosperity Mass-produced microreactors mean nuclear power anywhere. Behind the supermarket, on a military base, and eventually beyond the star we were born at. Radiant is building them. @DougBernauer @torishiv @RadiantNuclear

"A business that makes its own power on-site – inside the fence line, with no utility in the middle – suddenly has a cost structure its competitors can't touch."
Concrete poured, license moving, timeline on track.
Factory foundation complete! Finished the pour on the final concrete slab for our R-50 fresh fueling facility last night. 8 days! This is where we'll fuel Kaleidos - because customers want fuel handled at the factory - not on their site. And that's not the only milestone moving fast. @NRCgov has accelerated review of our Part 70 license for fuel use. Speed like that isn't luck - it's the result of a team that built the case and earned it.

100%. Finally, someone taking a fresh look at an age old problem. Bravo @OverReactor1776 and @emundz42! Nuclear provides about a fifth of America's electricity. It will play a key role in reindustrialization, and building nuclear waste storage around the country will make it possible + create thousands of jobs. THOUSANDS OF JOBS! ... and we're already standing up a facility to do this in Tennessee😎😎

The next generation of nuclear energy must deliver dependable power where continuity matters most. That’s why we’re excited to announce that the @ENERGY has conditionally selected Radiant to receive a second allocation of high-assay low-enriched uranium, or HALEU. The allocation is intended to fuel Radiant’s microreactor for the Department of the Air Force’s Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora, Colorado, which will be delivered by 2028. Radiant was the sole private-sector recipient selected in DOE’s third round of HALEU allocations, alongside NASA. Read more below.

Eighteen months from concrete to customer. That's the timeline we showed @RepChuck at R-50 in Oak Ridge last week — and the pour is already done.
I had a great time on MTS talking about the future of Nuclear in America. LET'S BUILD REACTORS!
