Great news for Whitehaven!   Some recent upgrades are complete at Fairley High School – students and faculty are now enjoying an updated gym with soon-to-open renovated locker rooms, classrooms, and restrooms.   We are proud to work with our local schools and community to complete upgrades that will benefit students and teachers. We’re excited to keep working with Memphis schools to inspire the next generation of explorers on the road to making life multiplanetary.

Since late June, ~2,000 members of the greater Memphis and Southaven area have signed up for @Starlink high-speed, reliable internet at half the price. SpaceX is continuing the offer, providing a 50% discount on Starlink Residential service plans to new and existing customers. There are also no upfront costs on kits for new customers → 

11 turbines successfully powered down at our Southaven facility. SpaceXAI remains committed to being a responsible neighbor and we’ll continue to rapidly remove the temporary, mobile turbines over the next year as our new 1.2 GW power plant comes online under the Clean Air Act permit.

The City of Southaven has entered a contract with MZX Tech, LLC, an affiliate of SpacexAI, to relocate our former Police/Fire training center on Tulane Road to property on Swinnea Road just south of Stateline Road. This land swap deal will transfer ownership of the City’s 51-acre site in exchange for 69 acres of new land surrounding an existing 20-acre parcel of City property and $40 million to construct new facilities. This is an unprecedented private investment in public safety facilities for our city, county, state and possibly country which will allow construction of new, cutting-edge facilities that will elevate the training of our professional public safety personnel and enhance recruitment efforts, solidifying our Police & Fire Departments’ elite capabilities for many years into the future.

We’re working with Southaven officials on the development of a new police and fire training facility, investing $40 million to help strengthen the local emergency response systems that are critical for the safety and well-being of the communities we call home.

We’re committed to building a new, state-of-the-art clean water recycling plant in Memphis that will recycle 10 million gallons of water each day. Work will restart in January 2027.   The system will protect ~3.64 billion gallons of Memphis drinking water yearly by eliminating SpaceXAI’s industrial water draws from the Memphis Aquifer. It will also supply water to other major industrial users, further reducing demand on the aquifer and the City’s water supply.

SpaceXAI is committed to powering its supercomputers in ways that both reduce costs of energy for the American people and minimize the impact on surrounding communities.   We have entered into an agreed order with @MDEQ establishing a fixed removal timeline for all 69 of the temporary, mobile turbines that currently power our facility in Southaven, Mississippi. All temporary turbines will be removed by July 2027. Today's agreed order codifies our commitment to achieve this timeline.

Earlier this year, @SpaceX acquired @xAI (now SpaceXAI), which operates the Colossus datacenters in Memphis.   As SpaceX continues to invest in the area, SpaceX is offering our neighbors in the Memphis area no upfront hardware costs on Residential @Starlink kits for new customers and a discount on home internet service plans for both new and existing customers. xAI is committed to building a state-of-the-art water recycling plant in Memphis. This plant will protect billions of gallons of water each year. The team is currently prioritizing other more immediate projects at the site but our plans to build the water plant have not changed.

xAI is thrilled that MDEQ approved our permanent construction permit unlocking 1.2GW of self-generating power capacity. This permit not only meets all state and federal permitting regulations but goes above and beyond what is required by law. This permit will ensure that ratepayers don’t pay one extra cent in their energy bills and powers the future of AI innovation through @Grok.
