I was wrong... GPT 5.6 Sol is actually a REALLY good model
i take back what i said about opus 5 initial results were promising / divergent but the more time i spent with it, the more infuriating of an experience it became my team feels the same way i am back on gpt-5.6-sol as my daily driver with fable and kimi 3 on planning / reviews

i think this is the most beautifully designed article ive read nice work @lauraentis @every @Kchaykowski
ChatGPT voice feels like an architectural and user interface breakthrough for harnesses .. I didn't expect to be this floored by it. The biggest unlock is that it's cross conversation so you can fluidly move across projects. For anyone using coding agents in even a mildly ambitious way, you get overwhelmed by the number of agents and /recap is insufficient for putting all the context back in your head. So it's a big productivity improvement. Perhaps the bigger deal is that it feels like the first aha moment of a true ambient consumer assistant. I think that the abstraction away from model selectors, git worktrees etc will free consumers to just literally ask for what they want and have it magically appear. In retrospect this may be an important moment in both harness architecture and consumer interfaces to allow the technology to diffuse much more broadly.

As additional Frontier models are released this evergreen tweet ages like a fine wine. GPT-5.6 Sol is such a consistently competent model. It’s dependably smart.
GPT-5.6 is even more thorough and dependable.
At a small business, the person closest to a problem is often the one who has to solve it—even when it falls outside their job description. We studied how AI is becoming powerful generalist tool for small teams, helping them work across functions.

I don't know what the hell they did with Opus 5 but it's an absolute shitshow of a model. It just endlessly makes mistakes, goes off down rabbit holes, doesn't finish tasks. Creates new tasks you never asked it for and just ends up in an endless loop. It's a mess. @AnthropicAI

Not all “voice modes” are the same. iykyk.
I don’t think you understand what ChatGPT Voice unlocks I went on a 4 hour hike yesterday. Through the northern California redwoods. Got more work done in those 4 hours talking to Voice through my AirPods then I do in 8 hours at my desk Work can be done ANYWHERE now 45 minute drive back using self driving? Now 45 minutes I can talk to Voice and work on side projects 20 minutes in the cafe? I can sit and talk to Voice and when I get home I have drafts on my computer for my newsletter for the next month Being able to just use your voice to talk to a super intelligence that controls your computer is unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before I don’t even care that the voice sounds human like, or you can interrupt it, or any of the wild advancements they made to the tech It’s the fact that it can control my computer, meaning all I need to get incredible work done is talk through my AirPods anywhere in the world that is the major game changer for me I don’t think people truly understand the implications of this yet Why even have a desk or monitor anymore. Work can be done ANYWHERE now The key is your set up: 1. Choose one device (preferably an always on desktop) as your main “headquarters” device all your work gets done on 2. Get the ChatGPT app on all your other devices (iPhone, iPad, laptops, Mac Minis) 3. Set up ‘connections’ in your settings so that all your ‘node’ devices can control your ‘headquarters’ device 4. Go legit anywhere in the world. Turn on Voice. Ask it to brief you on your projects, give you a recommended next step, then spin up new threads to do work I really don’t think work looks the same moving forward.

Two days of testing of Opus 5. My take based on insufficient observations, but this is the best I can do: 1. Anthropic no longer has the incredible Opus 4.8 / GPT 5.6 Sol gap. 2. The model is not clearly superior to Sol. 3. In chat, the model vibe is not great.
