Every movie is a 10/10 on Twitter until you watch it.
Stuck between I’m not doing enough and I have to wait to get back on track.
I think we have a listening problem. It’s not that people have stopped streaming music, but because we have become so obsessed with numbers and what everyone else thinks that we decide whether a song is worth hearing before we actually listen to it. 👉

The internet doesn’t care if you evolve to become a better version of yourself, they’ll still hold onto that version they know.

A guy told me something recently and I honestly didn’t know whether to sympathize with him or tell him he was wrong. He relocated from Nigeria to Canada. According to him, barely two weeks after he arrived, his mother started asking him for money. Not once. She started billing him regularly. “Send this.” “Your younger sibling needs this.” “We need money for this at home.” “Don’t forget to send something.” He said he was still trying to settle down, find his feet, understand his new environment and get himself financially stable. But the constant demands frustrated him so much that one day, he blocked his mother everywhere. WhatsApp. Calls. Social media. Everything. And apparently, he didn’t speak to her for almost a year. They eventually reconnected, but things have never really been the same. It’s been two years now, and according to him, his mother still barely speaks to him. Now he’s asking: “Did I actually do something wrong?” And honestly, I think there are two sides to this. Yes, parents sometimes have expectations when their child relocates abroad. And yes, some families genuinely need financial help. But relocating to Canada doesn’t automatically mean someone becomes financially comfortable overnight. At the same time, blocking your mother for an entire year because she was asking for money is also a very serious reaction. Maybe instead of blocking her, he could have clearly told her: “Mummy, I’m not financially stable yet. Please give me some time.” Maybe she would have understood. Maybe she wouldn’t have. But now two years have passed, and both of them are still holding on to the hurt. So I genuinely want to ask: Was he wrong for blocking his mother, or was the mother wrong for starting to bill him barely two weeks after he relocated? And if you were in his shoes, what would you have done?
