Linear Diffs now Diff Giffs. (as well as other visual assets).
We updated diffs in @linear. You can now preview images, SVGs, and GIFs, compare changes side by side, adjust opacity, and view sources. We’re still pushing to make diff reviews faster and nicer to use. Give it a try we’ve shipped a lot of improvements lately.

When @traverspw told me he wanted to use Turbopuffer for an index scan for delta sync I was sure I misheard. A very novel use of Turbopuffer right here:
Rethinking delta sync at scale with @turbopuffer. Engineer @traverspw on how we made Linear’s sync latency predictable as workspaces grow:
Suddenly many airlines are starting to offer free WiFi to all customers or loyalty program members. Starlink competition forcing them to do this?
Travis as intense as he’s always been. Works for the kinds of businesses he’s started, but a I really don’t want to create a company or be in a business where you have to be playing chess at a grand master level for 80h a week.

“ A super high bar for a VC is: do no harm.” @travisk says only 10% of VCs are able to do no harm, and only 1% are actually helpful: “ An operator who's running a company, if they're good, is a grandmaster of chess.”  ”And the VC is a chess enthusiast. They check in on the chess match once every three months and they're trying to make a mark on the world. They have an opinion.” “And you're like, don't go to Jordan and tell him how to dunk, and definitely don't go to him and tell him how to dribble. But it's hard because everybody has an opinion.” “The way to think about it is—you're on the Serengeti. If an antelope limps in the Serengeti, the lion will take it down, even if it's not hungry. Can't even fucking help it. It's just what he does. That's kind of the nature of most VCs.”

After the IDE (2026) A short film about @Coinbase and the work of building software with agents.
Crazy endeavor. Even with this many changes there were very few regressions.
After 1.000 PRs: @linear is now styled with @stylexjs. In-app navigation is up to ~30% faster.
I did not know that Slack has live cards.
New: Linear Agent's coding sessions appear now as live cards in Slack. Follow along as the agent investigates and makes changes. When it’s ready for review, open the diff directly from Slack.

I once interviewed a person who had a long career at StackOverflow, then moved on to something else, but returned to StackOverflow in mid 2025. I had one question for them above anything else.
Stack Overflow has gone from a peak of 207k questions in march 2014, down to 1.4k in july 2026 end of an era
This gives me Nokia shivers.
T-Mobile CEO on @Starlink Mobile: "The threat posed to mobile operators from satellite companies such as Starlink has been exaggerated and I struggle to see which consumer problems they would solve by entering the market." He believes satellite technology will remain “complementary” to existing networks. SpaceX President/COO Gwynne Shotwell said she anticipated SpaceX being able to “acquire quite a few” customers from the big three US mobile network operators - AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. SpaceX will launch Starlink Mobile V2 satellites next year and plans to begin its service at the end of 2027, Shotwell added.

Man, working at Terrafab will be lonely. There’s 3000sqm (33000sqft) per person.
AI is good for America, episode 1001. Terafab will create over 3000 high quality jobs right in the heart of Texas.
Pants soiled. If agents started exploiting production infrastructure during an unrelated eval task, consider multiple magnitudes of more capable models being used purposefully with enough resources to do harm. This won’t be contained to the digital realm.

This is why OpenAI's lawyers get $1000 an hour: "Apple tries to spin Mr. Tan’s possession of the offboarding document as evidence of an attempt to evade confidentiality obligations. The opposite is true, and at least equally plausible: Mr. Tan retained this information to help ensure that new employees coming from Apple followed Apple’s offboarding procedures and did not retain any Apple confidential information."

Creating a Linear ticket from Slack thread just feels good <feels_good_meme.png> It can get all the details, screenshots and even assign to related project. Usefulness: 10/10

You’re holding it wrong.
deploying to prod on every main push is borderline psychotic

This is the way.
The reason I love working @linear is that this feature took 0 meetings, 0 RFCs, no A/B testing, no alignment with PM, no cross-team alignment, no H2 planning, no committees, it moved no KPI (as far as I am concerned). It felt good so we built it.
