And @danshipper said it best back 2024: how well you can manage a team [of agents] is the new barometer of how productive you can be ( Unless you're at a lab, frontier business with extremely driven employees, or small startup (that recruits startup people), getting your team to actually use AI is almost an impossible task because it requires them to be surrounded by people that are pushing themselves to use it more and more in public. After Automation, anyone can (and will) ship software, regardless of your job title. One of my favorite ways to quickly ship updates to our website is to ask Codex or Claude to come up with 5 options. It usually gets one 80% right, and I can pull copy or features from the other four to get it to 99% right. In this case, we want to add a banner to our homepage driving people to our conference ( and Thesis Statements ( I COULD have: 1. asked @darustudio to work on yet another thing (death by a thousand papercuts) 2. gone back and forth with him over the course of a few hours 3. had him send it to our eng that runs @andreygalko (again, he's got bigger fish to fry) Instead I: 1. told Codex to checkout the conference and statements website to create a banner that works on desktop and mobile, and to make 5 different variants. 2. made a few tweaks. 3. shipped a PR and had Codex message Andrey on Slack with the PR details and link. After Automation, everyone ships.
