Day 149 of My Founder Journey.
I'm back.
Two weeks ago, I realized I was burned out. I never expected it to happen to me, but it did.
Looking back, I think I made one big mistake: I became too focused on Cashflow, Colosseum, and grants.
When those didn't work out, I felt... empty. So I'm changing my approach. I'm bringing fun back into building.
Instead of putting everything into one bet, I'll be working on multiple apps, running lots of experiments, and celebrating every small win - new users, new paying customers, higher MRR, anything that moves me forward.
Here's what I'm working on now:
→ Cashflow - the first TestFlight build is almost ready.
→ My new app - still stuck in App Store review for more than a week.
→ A few mobile games I built over 10 years ago. They still make around $500/month, and my goal is to grow that to $2,000/month.
Most importantly, I'm going to document the whole journey. I am back with my every day videos!

Something new is coming…
Day 148 of My Founder Journey.
Still waiting for Apple to approve the app.
What’s funny is that while the app has been in review, I’ve already shipped a bunch of new features.
They rejected it twice, and each time I submitted a new build with even more improvements.
The current build has been waiting for three days now.
Hopefully, today is the day. 🤞
On the bright side, everything is ready for the Product Hunt launch.
I also got approval from the Product Hunt team after they flagged my account as a company profile (apparently using a duck as your profile picture isn’t allowed 😅).
Now it’s just a waiting game. Chilling today.

Still waiting for Apple to approve the app.

Day 146 of My Founder Journey.
Just got a rejection from Apple.
It’s okay.
For most of my new apps, it usually takes two or three review rounds before everything gets approved. 😅
Fixed the issue and already resubmitted the build.
Also spent today working on growth.
I’m trying to get 500 votes for the @BinanceUkraine grant. Right now I’m at around 80, so there’s still a long way to go - but I still have five days left.
And one more thing…
As soon as the app is approved on the App Store, I’m launching on Product Hunt.
Preparing all the assets, screenshots, and copy.

Day 145 of My Founder Journey.
I took five days off from building in public.
And honestly, I needed them.
They gave me time to think, reset, and rethink my priorities.
For the next three months, I’m focusing on just three things:
→ Users
→ Growth
→ Revenue
No more building features just for the sake of building.
Every feature, every experiment, every decision has to move one of those three metrics.
The first experiment is already ready and will launch as soon as it is approved.
Also, thank you to everyone who DM’d me asking where I disappeared.

Polishing the app.
I keep telling myself "Just ship it".
Then I find one more thing to improve. 😅
Today was all about fixing the little details, improving the UX, and making sure everything feels right before the next release.
Preparing everything for launch. Hopefully, this is the last round of polishing.

Day 143 of building @cashflow_fi in public.
Yesterday, all of my bank accounts got blocked.
The reason?
My wife sometimes uses my credit card through Apple Pay. Yesterday she withdrew cash from an ATM, noticed an unexpected fee, and contacted support.
She mentioned that a week earlier she had used my card at another ATM without any extra fee.
A few minutes later…
Every one of my bank accounts was blocked.
I had to go through identity verification and a video call with the bank before they restored access.
It reminded me why I’m building Cashflow.
When your money sits in a bank account, access can be restricted while the bank investigates something.
Cashflow is built differently.
Your assets remain under your control through self-custodial multisig wallets - not under the control of a bank or even the Cashflow team.

Back to work after taking two days off.
Right now I’m focused on finishing the Family features.
Still left to build:
→ family transaction approvals, so you can request your partner’s signature
→ push notifications for approval requests
→ migration for existing wallets
→ lots of testing
The goal is to submit the update to the App Store by the end of this week.

Today I want to explain what Cashflow actually is.
Cashflow is a Family Finance app built on Solana.
You can manage savings together with your partner, invest into different yield protocols, and earn up to 10% APY on stablecoins.
You can also invest in tokenized stocks and other onchain assets - all from a single mobile app.
Funding your account is simple:
→ deposit from your bank account
→ or send stablecoins from your Solana wallet
Everything is secured by @multisig, giving families shared ownership and better protection than traditional crypto wallets.
So far, we’ve:

🏆 Won multiple Colosseum side tracks
📱 Launched on the Solana Mobile dApp Store

Day 140 of building @cashflow_fi in public.
Yesterday I shared my losses and rejections, and honestly, I got so much support.
I wasn’t looking for sympathy.
I just wanted to show that this is a normal part of the journey.
Sometimes you win.
Sometimes you lose.
And that’s completely okay.
A lot of people give up after the first rejection. But if you want to achieve something meaningful, you have to get comfortable with both wins and losses.
They’re both part of the game.
Today I’m touching grass 🌿
And probably tomorrow as well.
Spending time with my family and getting back to work on Monday.

Day 138 of building @cashflow_fi in public.
I want to share a bit about my setup over the last two days.
I’ve been coding entirely from my iPhone.
I already mentioned that I love using Codex on mobile, but this time I took it to the next level.
I gave it permission to commit and push to GitHub automatically.
And the most unexpected part?
It can build and deploy to TestFlight.
Now, if I ask it to add a new button, screen, or feature, it:
→ pushes the code to GitHub
→ deploys the backend to DigitalOcean
→ builds a new version for TestFlight
All from my phone.
That’s honestly insane.
The future of software development is going to look very different.

Velocity is Cashflow 👀
Today, Drift is rebranding to Velocity.
Our new name reflects the new and improved platform that we are building. Perpetual trading is a market where execution speed and directional precision determine outcomes. Velocity captures both, and signifies the momentum behind our relaunch.
The rebrand marks a deliberate line between what was and what comes next. Velocity is the exchange we have been building toward — a cleaner architecture, a stronger security foundation, and a clearer sense of what this platform is for. The name carries that intent.
As Velocity continues building towards relaunch, we are also planning to release our private Beta to select partners and traders in the coming days. This is an important step towards ensuring Velocity is rebuilt into the most robust perps exchange on Solana.

Thanks everyone for the feedback yesterday.
I got a lot of messages about the business model, and the consensus seems pretty clear:
Most people aren’t ready to pay a $10/month subscription.
But they’re perfectly fine with performance fees.
Which makes sense - almost every app in the Solana ecosystem monetizes through fees rather than subscriptions.
Still, I have to think more about it.
At a 5% performance fee, getting to $10K/month means reaching something like $50M in TVL.
That’s a long road.
So maybe the answer is a hybrid model:
→ Free app with performance fees
→ Pro subscription with higher APYs, premium features, and access to additional protocols
Feels like there might be a middle ground.
