Because public policy for fifty years has been based on the empirically incorrect premise that group IQs are NOT different. That false premise is why so many people assume that if the percentages of whites and blacks who are physicians or engineers are different, the explanation is racism. That's wrong. THE ONLY WAY TO PROVE THAT IS TO DISCUSS GROUP IQ METRICS.
I'm resorting to capitals because after 30 years I'm weary unto death of having to explain it over and over and over and over. Maybe the capitals will get it through the thick skulls of people who seem to be obsessed with not understanding it. I don't mean you, of course.
Can you give me even one example by name? Most of us know exactly what we ought to do about it, and say so: Treat people as individuals, not members of groups, and we should all do our damnedest to apply the same standards to everyone, whether it's a question of hiring, firing, promotion, or college admissions.
For 50 years, public policy has demanded we do exactly the opposite, and it has been toxic--approaching lethal toxicity in 2021-2024.
If you haven’t ever seen this, watch it. It is devastating. Thing is, Milton was routinely this devastating in debates. Always with a smile. Only James Q Wison could rival him (in my acquaintance) for extemporaneous fluency.
