Product wise, perp dexes might be superior with 24/7 trading and ease of high leverage. However, these benefits are overshadowed by the current major friction points: 1. On-boarding flow of perp dexes Having to get a hot wallet, deposit funds to then deposit in the perp dex smart account, or bridging across chains to get there is just way too many hoops. 2. Trust $295M drift exploit, Ostium lost $23M in their OLP vault, Dango shutting down without much prior notice. No regulations, lack of human support beyond discord. We have lots of work to do here. 3. Crypto majority trading pairs are not what majority of people are looking to trade. I see all perp dexes working on adding equities and even fx which is good. 4. Converting these users from their existing comfy online trading platforms, is gonna be hard.

For the time I’ve spent building @clashofperps, the question I had to every perp dex is how are they planning to acquire net new traders beyond CT. No one has given me a satisfactory answer.
