The last 48 hours have been some of the hardest I've experienced in Bitcoin. I've been putting out fires nonstop: helping people migrate funds in a panic, talking them through impossible situations, and breaking every protocol I'd normally insist on because there simply wasn't another option. I've had people so overwhelmed they couldn't even type their own seed phrases. They split them across Signal, Telegram, and email in multiple parts just to get through the migration. Together we moved hundreds of bitcoin under immense pressure. And we're nowhere near done. There are still hundreds of people with Coldcards in single-sig setups. We still don't know how far this entropy issue extends on later models. Even confidence in older hardware has been shaken, and many people are migrating out of caution. So I'm asking for one thing: If you're knowledgeable and you have a few hours to spare, please help. Help people verify their setup. Help them migrate safely. Help answer questions. Help those who have just lost life-changing amounts of bitcoin. Sometimes they don't need technical advice first—they need someone to calmly guide them through the next hour. I've seen wallets containing double-digit BTC balances drained. It's heartbreaking, and I sincerely hope those responsible are identified and brought to justice. What disgusts me is seeing people use this as an opportunity to score points, dunk on others for using or promoting Coldcard in the past, or somehow drag the conversation back into the endless Knots vs. Core and spam-filter debates. This isn't the time. People are hurting. Some have lost years sometimes decades of savings. Be the person who helps, not the person who farms engagement. Please help.

The lesson of the Blocksize Wars was that Bitcoin scales in layers, not by forcing everything onto the base layer. Now, ironically, many of the people who inherited only the pleb-slop retelling of that history are turning it into a purity spiray, trying to constrain Bitcoin into something that preserves their ideological ideal of purity at the expense of actually scaling.

Yes, they're angry at Core because they've been misled. For years, podcasters sold them a compelling but fundamentally false story about how Bitcoin actually works. Now the consequences of that misinformation are playing out, and everyone else has to pay the price. The podcasters failed us.

I'll spare the audience your whiney ahh video. Publicly, you helped fuel a campaign that smeared a developer with serious allegations, contributing to an environment that drove her from her position. It's fucking easy to preach civility after the damage is done. It takes actual character to reject mob behavior before reputations are destroyed. You chose the coward path: join the pile-on publicly, then seek absolution privately. Classic short man behavior. History won't remember your platitudes about unity. It will remember who stood by principle when it was unpopular and who bent with the prevailing wind. When people look back on this episode they'll see you as someone who helped create the problem, then wanted credit for calling for peace once the consequences of your loser fork became undeniable 🤡

Yup. It had broad support among people who have actively contributed to the project. Everyone else remained free to stop updating, choose a different policy limit, run an alternative implementation like btcd, or switch to a fork such as Knots. It wasn't done to serve Citrea. Citrea was just another example of why the OP_RETURN limit was counterproductive: it incentivized the use of fake pubkeys, which are a worse outcome for the network.
