update on my 1k -> 100k challenge on fomo:
i initially achieved it in 6 days through a combination of experience/skill + "be in the right place at the right time" luck
i then overshot to 220k mcap days later,
then endured a drawdown all the way to 70k, when BTC pinged down to its range lows following clarity not passing.
heavily focused in stonk fun eco coins, which to me are poised to be the greatest PVE wealth generation event i've seen in crypto in a decade, among infinite PTSD on the timeline and in group chats, i didn't sell a single coin.
that conviction was rewarded, and my portfolio is now back to 220k.
so where do i go from here?
i think in the last market cycle, with "previous generation" (pre stonk fun tokenomics) memes, the right thing to do here would be to sell everything, go to cash, take a breath, re-assess the landscape, and move onto a new trade.
there are always opportunities, and doing a reset is oftentimes a great way to see things with fresh eyes. avoiding bag bias is important - something i've learned through getting my teeth kicked in on pretty bad round trips.
but after sitting in that drawdown, then cresting a new high again, and taking an honest look at the landscape,
if i went to cash and redeployed into a "new trade",
i'd, with great enthusiasm and fervor, happily rebuy the exact same coins i'm in right now:
solana:8RVBk8vxLiUHueLUW1f4izFVqN3nWippLhkohKg6EGkS is my highest conviction play of the cycle, and i think there's a pathway to 50-100x here, while printing free solana:6GmAFSYs4gk3FDao5FzzySQpPZaWsa4rUJHacpMpUNgx
solana:6GmAFSYs4gk3FDao5FzzySQpPZaWsa4rUJHacpMpUNgx is the fair-launched, zero-insider, VC-free, fully circulating, deflationary platform token that's revolutionized memecoin tokenomics, ushering in PVE 'buy-and-hold' trading, *as a baseline profit incentive*, rather than the status quo "solved game" rotational 80k nightmare jungle of yesteryear. it's a revenue giant, and only going to grow exponentially as BTC approaches its prev ATH (and beyond), and BTC is still nowhere close.
solana is heavily involved in promoting it, since it gives them platform diversity and a culture reset, and many loud/influential people on the TL are (allegedly) barred from talking about stonk fun via a contractual obligation to another platform, making an already dream setup subject to the same information asymmetry that let people buy solana at $8 last cycle.
Reflection tokens like solana:HcRLc9VDgjLeK154xDawfb1dmVJ98DoSqcwTHGqiDeJR (the flagship proof-of-concept that triggered a mass "aha" moment across every single corner of crypto) and solana:6JrR1iqPdinYTNvNPWTR2P7e2wSJ1rwdsrKGyhnzjUVr (100m, and 1.8m, as a sort of barbell) show that stonk fun eco tokens get otherwise *VERY* protective communities excited about these memes, rather than defensive, since these memes create buying pressure and attention on the underlying coins (ZEC and WIF respectively)
And I continue to try to find "the winner" in terms of the coin hitting escape velocity, becoming "the ZCAT of [x]" for the top 50 or so coins by mindshare in crypto. I think I've found a few that look go so far, but many of these are at or below 1m mcap, and may still get disrupted. You can check my FOMO for more. I think getting positions in these early could lead to sitting in multiple 50-100x kingmaker trades, all while accruing free tokens across the spectrum. solana:6JrR1iqPdinYTNvNPWTR2P7e2wSJ1rwdsrKGyhnzjUVr, mentiond above, is one example. the
@dogwifcoin main even posted it. i'm trying to find more like this, early.
i think at this point, it only makes sense to turn this into a 1k -> 1 million challenge, on
@fomo
i don't know if anyone else has done this before.
for anyone that missed 1k -> 100k and wish they could've followed along: the coins i'll be buying are adjacent to what i would've done on 1k->100k, just with larger buys. the plays and thesis remain the same. you can see what i would've done if this was reset at 1k by looking at my buys/sells, and simply dividing by 10.
as always - if you're not trading at
@fomo, like i (as an app-skeptical HTF majors trader) wasn't, you might be surprised at how effective it is as a centralized, great-UX discovery layer for tokens, aggregating theses (that you can scrutinize for quality/intent) in one place, and making buying cross-chain frictionless.
my ref link, if you're curious, is here:
the app shared a small portion of the baked in trading fees with me, so signing up using that is meaningful to me, and appreciated. signing up with a reflink also saves you 10% on fees.
i have no partnership or official relationship with them. i just love the app, and think it gives me an edge.
thanks for following along. will update how this plays out, for better or worse. wish everyone luck out there as conviction and patience are rewarded.

several longer tail coins that I think have a good shot at "winning" fartcoin, SPX, CATE, and more (knowers know) that i feel good about, but don't feel comfortable blasting out on ct at this point.
alright, going to start a 1k -> 100k challenge on fomo, in public. wallet link at the end.
i successfully did this in 2025 across ~5 months on sol, using a single phantom wallet, and rawdogging it on jup.
i took 1k usd and turned it into ~112k at the wallet's high. i did this without expectations - i'm a HTF majors trader, but didn't want a blindspot on a big part of the market, especially after crushing the sol/bonk/wif trade.
if you want an annotated chart of patterns that have printed for me (or at least have a good strike-rate) and don't want to read my wall of text, skip to the end.
how i found success trading nanocaps/smallcaps:
1) i don't buy new pairs.
when i started my trenching journey, i was never looking at dexscreener for stuff that spawned in (this is suicidal, 99.99% of these are rugs). i'm talking stuff you see in group chats, twitter, etc.
trading new pairs fails because, when a coin bonds, there's an immediate supply overhang of nearly 100% of people in some degree of profit. market physics demands this gets worked out, and that's *before* you take into account the fact that people, using tooling + social gaslighting, intentionally bundle coins with the express goal of full stacking their coins super early.
when i was new, i'd buy new pairs, and was slowly losing my balance.
2) i look for coins that fit one of two chart patterns, and they're pretty distinct
pattern 1 (see screenshot) at the very least, the coin went down at minimum 70-80% at least once - this is worst of the supply overhang getting worked out. if it happens again (ie a 90% dump, then a 70% dump), and the coin comes back, it can still go to zero (many do), but it at least proves "there's something there" memetically or organically, otherwise it'd be done and dusted.
pattern 2 (see screenshot) a coin that has a bundle rip out, then the coin pumps pretty high. eventually momentum traders leave (99% of onchain is pure momentum). there's a mini time capitulation (days-weeks, not talking months or longer), but then there's a telltale curl-up. this is the highest strike rate trade i've found, and what netted me the most success, especially if the "low" held a bit of a floor. this means there's either a) organic interest in the underlying meme/coin and its potential, and people are reaccumulating, or b) it's going to get crimed. both will print.
i'm going to look for both of these patterns, and see if they still work today.
3) join a group chat. or make one with friends. this sort of social coordination layer makes finding/talking about new coins way easier - you leverage each other's research and vetting. everyone wins here. there's no reason to lone wolf this.
nanocaps aside:
i'm also going to mix in some memefi smallcaps on RH chain, on the thesis that once a coin reaches escape velocity for its RWA (ie MOO and MU), the odds of it losing out to a new coin are SUPER low, compared to prev gen memecoins. this sort of organic anti-dispersion/vamping mechanism is really powerful, and a big reason i think you see people feeling comfortable holding coins longer.
i'll post a thesis for many coins. turning a 1k to 100k balance will involve moving in and out of *some* coins (especially <1m mcap) quickly, cutting stuff that smells like it's going to roll over, without warning. if you see my wallet buying something small, know that i might sell it quickly. i don't recommend tailing me into anything really small.
if you haven't yet signed up to fomo, please consider using my ref link - you'll save money on fees. i've never posted a ref link in the 9 years i've been on ct, but this is a "you might as well", since it's beneficial to join via one. i appreciate it.
or also, you can just follow me, if you're signed up
another note: there might be days where i take zero trades. one important thing i've learned: less is more. being discerning on what to buy is everything. i don't just serial-buy stuff scanned in gcs
thanks for following along. i won't post updates to CT terribly frequently, because a lot of people don't really care about this side of the space, but will occasionally do a roundup of successes and failures.
