Just now on @Morning_Joe: @AbdulElSayed was asked by @WillieGeist whether his critique of Israel is about @netanyahu or Israel itself. He made it clear his problem is with Israel. Lots of references to “apartheid” and “genocide” that “pre-date” BiBi.

Agree that nothing is set in stone. But the fact pattern is ominous. Facts: -An obscure activist (@DarializaforNY) loudly and proudly participated in a rally in NYC on Oct 8, 2023, celebrating Hamas and defending the massacre of Jews. She said that Zionism is equivalent to genocide (not a critique of this or that Israeli government minister or policy, but that the mere existence of the Jewish State in any form is genocidal). -She was given numerous opportunities to apologize for or retract these statements and her ghoulish participation in antisemitic death cult rallies. She did not. Quite the opposite: as recently as this month she stood by this worldview in a statement. -Despite all of this — and perhaps b/c of it — she had the passionate backing of the biggest brand in Democratic politics today (@NYCMayor). -With @NYCMayor making her election a top priority, she toppled an incumbent Democratic Member of Congress - a Member who had the seniority in Washington that previous NYC mayors would have regarded as an asset in helping City Hall deliver for the City. Again, nothing is set in stone. But it’s also hard to stare at these facts and not acknowledge that something big is happening here.
