Even in his resignation he still pretends to have done nothing wrong. Amazing.
Senate Republicans on the Judiciary Committee just told on themselves. They admit they won’t check Trump—then vote to hand his personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, total control of the DOJ.
Abdul El-Sayed, a former public health official and progressive Democrat, will face Republican nominee Mike Rogers in Michigan’s Senate race. "Mike Rogers is a guy who has never shied away from a corporation he could do a favor for," El-Sayed said in his victory speech.

New paper: "Bayesian and Motivated Reasoning in AI Agents." Given the same data, an agent can give you different result. Same synthetic election data, framed as coming from the U.S. or Venezuela, an agent analyzing the data will conclude with different rates of election fraud.

The difference is that APSA Councilship is likely perceived by members as a low-impact and/or thankless job, which very few want to be nominated for. Anyone who has served in faculty committees etc knows.

As someone who studies Soviet elections, I find the APSA ballot has a certain familiar charm. By their overwhelming unanimity, APSA members express their complete confidence in the Nominating Committee and demonstrate the unbreakable unity of the discipline.

I think it's fine if local AAUP chapters want to make their own endorsements in local elections. But when it comes to the Q of whether the national AAUP should endorse (let alone in a local primary), shouldn't all chapters/members be polled, not just those of a single locality?

Today, @AAUP is proud to endorse @AbdulElSayed for Michigan's next US Senator. This is the first endorsement in our 110 year history. Abdul understands the crisis in higher education and how we can build for what comes next! #College4All#

Really embarrassing that @JohnCornyn is pretending any of this is binding. Even MORE embarrassing that Cornyn is applauding @DAGToddBlanche's decision to immunize Trump's abundant tax crime AFTER learning (Friday) about his money laundering.

Other comical thing here is that "frontline doctors" as used by RFK Jr. et al. does not mean actual doctors treating patients with severe COVID e.g. in ICUs. It's this bizarre group who yes does call itself "America's Frontline Doctors" that runs an ivermectin telehealth scam

i'm sure the ability to fabricate convincing historical footage that eventually drifts across the internet, where it's picked up by people who present them as real, at a time when trust in educational and media institutions is already eroding, will prove to be a net positive

What's the biological science of the most beautiful woman in the world being hatched from an egg because Zeus turned himself into a swan to fuck the Queen of Sparta?
What do I mean when I say that John Brown practiced “fringe constitutionalism”? #America250# #JohnBrown# #AmericasForgottenConstitutions#
Yes, “for reasons”. The reasons being the same ones that say biologists get to teach evolution even if that is controversial with the public.
If you believe this, you are an idiot. It’s that simple.
