Ethereum Economic Zone Monthly Update — July 2026 is live. A running note on where the project actually stands, what's shipped, what's been said publicly, and what's next. We'll aim to send one roughly every month. Details ↓

Absolutely mind blown with the scale of the ambition of the @etheconomiczone Shared by @tw_tter Ethereum can be the substrate for trustless global trade A multipolar world can settle in shared trustless economic zone @ethereum

This is the demand shift we've been building for. Real businesses choosing Ethereum L1+L2 gives you the barbell described in the article — neutral base, specialized edges. It's the model working as intended. But there's a step past settlement. Many L2s anchored to one L1 still fragment: separate liquidity, separate state, connected only by async bridges. A common base isn't automatically one economy. That's the layer EEZ works on — synchronous composability across L2s, so the edges transact as one economy instead of islands, while the base stays neutral and uncapturable. Consolidation at the base is the setup; composability across the edges is the payoff.

Capital allocators don't want to bridge and inherit a new security profile — and with EEZ they don't have to. Atomicity makes this possible. An EEZ rollup lets a single transaction touch both a public Ethereum asset and a private/permissioned chain — both legs settle together, or neither does — under Ethereum's own security: not bridged, not hoped-and-prayed-for. Assets stay on Ethereum, and now private-chain use cases can reach those assets without asking them to leave. Let's activate Ethereum as an economic operating system.

"All of the serious capital allocators that we talk to on a daily basis, they wanna stay on Ethereum. They don't wanna go and bridge their funds elsewhere and change the whole security profile of their assets. And similar, the RWAs, well, the RWAs are just gonna follow where the people's assets are... and the people's assets they want to stay on Ethereum." 🗣️ @jaibhavnani, Founder of @roycoprotocol 🎧 Link to full @Edge_Pod:

Last day of Octant Epoch 12. EEZ is the framework that activates Ethereum's economic layer through synchronous composability across rollups, allowing Ethereum to operate as one unified system. If that's worth a vote to you, today's the day. 👇

FINAL HOURS OF EPOCH 12. Ethereum's builders need you. Allocate now:
The deciding variable is composability. Shared security gets you partway — but a root needs chains that compose synchronously, not bridge to each other and hope. A root only holds if chains compose as if they were one. That's the equilibrium worth building. Make it EEZ.

Ethereum’s credible neutrality gives it a unique opportunity to become the root for the global economy. Else it’ll be a web of chains each w/ their own security zone and brittle links between. The Ethereum equilibrium is better for the world but not inevitable. Let’s get it.

i can't believe we are this close to synchronous composability on ethereum. meanwhile half the industry wants to go build LLM wrappers. this talk on the @etheconomiczone from @jbaylina and @VitalikButerin at @EthPrague is one of the clearest explanations of what synchronous composability on ethereum could actually look like. also interesting to see vitalik on the other side of the conversation here, he’s asking the right questions.

My favorite possible use of realtime proving and synchronous composability on rollups is being able to atomically interact with a potentially-trustful L2, directly from L1, and assume no custodial risk.

"We are able to extend the @ethereum through a real-time proving and synchronously composable rollup framework." @VitalikButerin interviewed with @jbaylina about the technical primitives of the @etheconomiczone at @EthPrague, diving deep into solving the L2 fragmentation problem through real-time proving and synchronous composability.
