Good counterargument.
Zcashers able to argue like adults even when contentious. What a community.
Also evidence that we are decentralized (if you hadn't noticed).
A problem with Zcash marketing is everyone talks about privacy.
We don't talk about everything else: fiat, debasement, the benefits of a hard money.
It's literally the entire ethos of Bitcoin but ALSO private.
Another thing I don't think people talk about enough is self custody.
The Bitcoiners really lost their way by requiring custodians, channels, and mints. Those are banks by another name.
No banks. No eyes on my money. No money printer.
That's why I'm here.
A voluntary arrangement between consenting adults.
IDK how a person can be a freedom maximalist and against this.
Just don't participate if you don't like it.
Over time a private SOV should attract capital.
We can see this in a new analysis mapping NEAR swaps across assets.
Relative to its market cap, Zcash is more than 18× over-weighted in its centrality in the swap graph.
So people aren't swapping to Zcash randomly because it's a common asset. They are picking it for some other reason. Likely speculation or privacy.
If my thesis plays out I expect Zcash to become an even larger attractor of capital as it's price stabilizes/grows.

More than half of Zcash appear to be in "long term storage."
- In the transparent pool 30.4% of coins have not moved in more than a year
- 20% have not moved in more than 3 years.
- 30.8% are in the shielded pools
Either way you add these two numbers up (20% + 30.8% or 30.4% + 30.8%) you end up at more than half.
