The Motion Picture Association (MPA) and ByteDance have struck a deal for IP protections in AI videos and image models.
The two groups have developed a framework to protect the film and TV industries’ intellectual property across ByteDance’s suite of AI generative products, including the AI video and image generators Seedance and Seedream.
It's a little disheartening, I won't lie.
The AI witchhunt is getting wild, man. I've had a few people try to call me out for using AI generated historical images in my game.
For context - I use a bunch of public domain historical photographs in Flick (with the images sourced from Wikimedia Commons) and then make some simple edits and drop some key items into the photo so that it works with the puzzle.
But apparently some people have never heard of Photoshop and all these historical images featuring objects in my game are AI generated?
This couldn't be further from the truth. I spend a lot of time getting these pictures just right.
So, because this is apparently a thing I have to do now, here's some social proof that I hand edit all this stuff in Photoshop cs 6, step by step.
1. Drop in the image screenshot taken in-game over an old public domain photo.
2. Cut it out (I'm lazy so I just use a sharp eraser) and adjust the brightness/contrast.
3. Add some noise and some gaussian blur.
Presto.
It's not rocket science, guys.
So please get out of my dm's and quit it with the AI accusations already. Sheesh.
not worth the time for the Meta Creator bonus this month, accounts over a million get $5K but like Rourke said some of these Reels cost like $500 to produce. For me they just take too much time
glad to see logic applied to the backwards view the games industry has on gen AI
the industry should encourage and reward devs who use gen AI, especially for writing, voices, art, and UI. Not “just” coding
For those who don’t follow video games, there is constant policing of any AI use among small, indie developers. They are the most resource constrained firms in a field where profits are rare & artistic vision is often compromised, but they are punished more harshly than big devs.
Seed Audio 1.0 is a game changer for believable AI character voice overs
the REAL power comes when you combine Seed Audio and Seedance 2.0 together
