Pouring out bottle of almond milk in honor of the data center were canceled over water consumption.
JUST IN: It’s been revealed the “waste water” used to produce a single 16oz bag of almonds could power someone making 100 ChatGPT queries/day for >385 years.
Is anyone else too busy reindustrializing America to even post?
Finished my fixture . It is put togeather with 276 pieces. It is made out of a piece of 7075 from @noxmetals. Thank you @zanehengsperger for your help getting me the metal I need to keep my shop running.

I made a cap for my vacuum fixture. Unfortunately, I can't drill a 16" deep hole.
What is the point of having a fully constained drawing if Fusion freezes every time you try to change something? What do you do while you are waiting for fusion to calculate a few thousand dimensions.

@JackIsLearning it lovely chat today. You asked me today what tolerance I cut my stock to. For today's project I cut my stock to .03"-.06" on all sides using a quality steel rule and my twice rebuilt harbor freight horizontal bandsaw. Looking forward to cutting my @noxmetals 7075 plate with my new t-slot clamps.

My neice got a 3d printer. Anyone know a good way to get figurine files to print?
Are you trying to hold a .001" profile? You need to manage tool deflection. A spring pass runs the same toolpath a second time, ideally cutting nothing, but you can still hear how much material was left from deflection on the first pass. That same deflection will also put a taper on the part. If you’re using a face mill, run an indicator across the surface after the cut and you’ll usually find it isn’t flat; .003" of variation is common. Drop the face mill another .001", it skims the peaks and leaves the valleys, and you can walk the part into a flat surface that way.

Haas has a crazy sale going on right now. I can buy a VF-2 cheaper than I bought my minimill for and with more features.
I interviewed a college-trained "machinist" who said he knew GD&T and could program in Fusion 360. • Pointed to a flatness callout on a print — he had no idea what the symbol meant. • Asked him to locate true position — he didn’t know what it was. • Told him he could use AI to find it — he said he doesn’t use AI. • Had him program a simple cube from raw stock — didn’t know speeds/feeds and left zero stock for vise holding. Would you hire him?

I found some limited edition ramen. This might be the best ramen I have ever had. Do my Japanese friends approve?
Small part efficiency. 14 parts per button press is cheaper than loading 14 separate parts.
