Public transit is a public service and it should be shaped by the people who depend on it.
Free transit fares make so much sense until you ask why no major city in the world offers them.
Good to see this organized pro-transit opposition to a free fare campaign in Los Angeles.

Why is @cd14losangeles canceling street improvement projects in Downtown & Boyle Heights that communities have fought long and hard for?
Four years after winning over $100M in state funding, we are now poised to give it back because we can’t figure out how to deliver the projects in a reasonable amount of time.

Fare enforcement is one of the things I’ve completely changed my mind on. I used to take the compassionate stance and think it doesn’t hurt to give someone down on their luck a pass.
But this is further proof that it’s more a small minority of people with deeply antisocial behaviour.
We can’t let our public spaces devolve such that the average person doesn’t want to use them.

wild that LA had an opportunity during new apt construction to create very large pedestrian paths or linear park in Warner Center - imagine if this temp closed off roadway was turned into that instead of the real plan (same road/sidewalk width + dedicate 8 ft for landscaping :/)

Little Tokyo Throne has 8~ ppl in line on a typical Sunday afternoon
5am shenanigans on the A line. Just watched a man attack a fellow passenger for no reason and wouldn’t stop until other passengers stepped up.
I’m glad @LADOTofficial understands the needs of drivers in LA and does not prioritize one mode of transport over another.
A well designed multimodal transportation system balances the needs of single occupancy vehicles and 3-car Metro trains. 👏 🚗 🚇 🚗

What’s going on with the A Line? There’s been 2 southbound trains sitting for over 10 minutes.
Glad to see @metrolosangeles realized that they operate a countywide transit network that funnels many riders THROUGH Downtown LA in order to get back home from work 🙄
The city of Los Angeles curfew in downtown LA remains in effect -- however Metro is resuming normal bus and rail service.
