Jev has got me excited about the engineering side of software development again. It feels like my brain has reactivated. So many cool systems to design. Anyone else feel that way?
I've been using Google Docs for a project. The AI restrictions, the slow speed and mistakes of @GeminiApp is killing me compared to my custom setup with markdown files and any model I want. Your biggest advantage is your own harness.

I like the way @bot and @cursor_ai play together. I'm using grok bot to oversee and orchestrate Cursor Cloud Agents across repos. Useful for light touch tasks, not necessarily paired development.
If this is true, it's going to solve speed, cost and reliability in a rare trifecta. Excited but cautious.

This whole pause AI thing. Whichever side you stand on is moot. Are we not on a one way path forward here. I don't think there is a pause button on global R&D?
Using @bot is a like sending your request into a black box. It gets done, but I don't have the oversight I'm used to in Cursor or Claude. And that scares me a little. Sooo how did you do that? Are my credentials on the open market now?

I'll be honest I held back on @bot because as an agent super user I'd built everything it offered already. The interface frustrated me in it's simplicity. But after a few days I realize that's the beauty of it, less customization, more action. I'm not sold yet but continuing to play.

I have to say this level of info is all I need, clear, concise and sans marketing fluff.
@itslueul Grok 4.7 should be roughly on par with Opus 5.0, not 5.1. Better in some ways, worse in others. We need to fix multimodal performance.
Grok 4.8 will be a noticeable improvement.
Grok 4.9 is probably Astra/Fable class.
Grok 5 maybe better than anything. We shall see.

A reminder to not stress if you aren't running 20 agents in parallel in your custom software factory. The vast majority of good work being done is happening in single thread sessions with human in the loop.

I've been using Gemini within Google tools for a couple of hours today out of necessity. If this is the average persons experience of AI I can see how you would be underwhelmed. Coming from Cursor, Anthropic, OpenAI experiences and freedom, the gemini UX feels like typing with one finger.

If you are working in a team, keep your PR size small and digestible. No one wants to review your Agent Written 10,000 line, multi feature, opus. Be nice.
