Meta knocked it out of the park with @Muse. I think it's their most important product since Instagram or WhatsApp. Trillions of $ in consumer spend will be facilitated through personal assistants in the future and they have the distribution, infra and data (not to mention 3.6b users and cash machine to keep it free) to really compete for market dominance here. A few things I used it for in the last week: • FedEx tried delivering a package that required a signature to the wrong place and left a note on their door. I explained what happened to Muse and it handled all correspondence. Package arrived next day. • Asked it to find and purchase the closet 6 seats together for Disney on Ice tickets for next month. • DMV sent me a letter about an insurance verification issue, I gave it to Muse and it handled.

I've been working with creativity software for 20 years. Proficient in just about all of the major programs. The last year has been nothing short of a revolution. My stack/workflow has changed dramatically and the tools available to us today feel like magic. But. Everything technical will soon be solved. Creating in the future (really, all work) may just be dependent on your capacity to describe your desired outcome in as much detail as possible to the machines. So be it. The only constant in life is change. But there is a certain sadness that brings for an OG to the game. Long live craft.

I fed GPT-6 Astra 9 crappy photos of my studio and it was able to understand the spatial arrangement, stitch them together and create a fully interactive 3D model of the space. Absurd. I'll link it below so you can check it out for yourself:

Meta is launching its first personal agent – Muse – which is designed to proactively work on your behalf to help you achieve your goals and complete your tasks end-to-end. This isn’t sponsored, but I have had early access and I wanted to cover it since billions of people will soon have access. I also think this is Meta’s biggest launch of the year. One of the hottest categories in tech right now is AI assistants. But none, I would argue, have true product market fit. For a personal AI agent to truly be useful, it needs a great amount of context, access and data. Meta has a real advantage here through their social graph and family of apps. One thing I am happy to see is Meta putting a lot of emphasis on privacy. I encourage you to read about the safeguards @finkd and team have put in place. For me — I don't know that it becomes my ‘daily driver’ personal agent quite yet. But for online shopping and local recommendations specifically, Muse Spark 1.3 has been my go-to. Still amazed by ChatGPT Voice Mode. New use case: "directing" it as a voice actor. I need a specific voiceover for a video I'm making. Couldn't find a Fiverr actor with the exact style I needed. I couldn't get the inflection or tone I needed in ElevenLabs. Voice Mode nailed it after a few minutes of back-and-forth.

Super niche thing but I found this fascinating: So I'm looking to use a public domain (pre-1926) period jazz song with deep male vocals for a commercial video. I notice that the quality of everything recorded pre-1926 is pretty harsh and distant. BUT I've found gems post-1926 (that aren't public domain yet) that sound absolutely beautiful... crackling vynil with that old radio charm. I couldn't figure out why the huge switch up between pre 1926 and post 1926. Turns out, electrical recording was invented in ~1925, which changed everything. Night and day difference.
