The California Wealth Tax is a precursor to the 2028 primary. Newsom is fighting to keep a Dem Party that caters to billionaires, because he needs them to fund his campaign. Ro Khanna has backed the wealth tax because he wants a Dem Party that is free to tackle the oligarchy. That led the billionaires to fund a primary challenge against him (which he beat).

I really hate it when politicians reject solution X and then say 'are there other solutions we should be looking at other than X?' If you are running, your job is to provide the solution! If you still need look for solutions, go look. Don't run for office.

To give this a good faith read that it doesn’t deserve, one point she seems to miss is that antiwar organizers are not merely a blob of moral energy that bursts at the sight of an illegal war. Antiwar activists are rational and strategic. Trump does not care about public opinion. He didn’t even try to make even a fake case for the war. The only pressure point Trump feels that regular people can control is legislative action and elections. A massive march on Washington would do what? Instead, the rational thing to do is elect stridently, unapologetically antiwar candidates up and down the ballot. That’s what antiwar activists have been doing. Neera, meanwhile, has spent the bulk of her time agitating against those candidates and siding with AIPAC, which supports the war and wants more of it.

Abdul is a better fundraiser (which I’ve been told for years by Democratic pundits is the biggest sign of electability). He’s running on extremely popular issues. So why, exactly, is he more unelectable than someone who can’t win a primary after $60 million of outside spending?

Is there a single el-Sayed supporter with enough self-awareness to admit they're willing to accept a higher risk of defeat to elect a left-wing candidate?

Mainstream media pundits constantly ask progressives if they swear allegiance to Israel, and then try to claim progressives are making everything about Israel. It's maddening. We just want to fund healthcare, housing and education and not fund genocides and endless wars.

Abdul El-Sayed is asked on MSNOW if he is worried that his anti-Zionist messaging "echoes an old antisemitic trope" Abdul: "The idea that somehow we are going to use the spectre of antisemitism to defend what a foreign government is doing, does a deep disservice to the well-being of Jewish Americans in this country." Jackie Alemany: "You haven't made that same tradeoff argument with regards to other items in the US's 800 billion dollar defense budget" Abdul: "Oh I have, you just don't cover it. No, No, No. I have. You just don't cover it. I'll say the same thing about the money we send to Egypt, which is where my family comes from. So if you want to go ahead and call me anti-Egyptian, go ahead and do that"

Everyone in the chain of command who authorized this should be charged with murder.
For years, Israel was using 2,000lb American bombs to kill Gazan refugees in tents. Both the Biden and Trump administrations permitted it. A precedent was set. Now it appears the US is doing the same in Iran. A 2000lb bomb was dropped on a family house in Qeshm, killing a taxi driver (the father), the mother, and a 2-year-old, according to @nytimes. Yes, a taxi driver. And a toddler. And his mother. "The Times found no indication of a military site near the family’s home or any reports of military casualties from the strike."

The election for Michigan state is about who gets to control the Democratic Party: people, or corporations that screw people?
When you see Gov. Whitmer (D-Blue Cross) try to stop @AbdulElSayed, remember: Whitmer’s dad was Blue Cross’s CEO, she appointed a Blue Cross CEO co-chair of her transition & raked in more Blue Cross cash than any Mich candidate ever — as Blue Cross denies 1 in 6 medical claims.

This is the bipartisan extremism we see in DC and the kind of radical ideology we need to get rid of. The only country our senators should be bonding over is America.
