Today at Camp LeJeune, @USMCSgtMaj, @CMC_MarineCorps, @Dakota_Meyer, Pastor Peters and I spoke with Marines about an important topic that we must directly address: Suicide.
For too long, we’ve ignored proven intervention strategies and instead relied on compulsory training sessions. That’s going to change.
Today, I am reaffirming my commitment to the Suicide Prevention and Response Task Force that was launched back in February to singularly focus on how the Department of the Navy can best provide the support our Sailors and Marines deserve.
Taking care of our people is more than a priority - it is a responsibility.

I was honored to attend the Marine Barracks Washington Evening Parade with my family as a guest of honor alongside The Honorable Dan Scavino and his wife Erin.
As a proud Marine, it was meaningful to witness the precision, discipline, and warrior spirit on full display. The traditions of the “Oldest Post” are a powerful reflection of the heritage, excellence, and fighting spirit of the United States Marine Corps.
The event was hosted by Maj. Gen. Hoffman and we were honored by the presence of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Attorney General Todd Blanche, NASA Administrator Jared Issacman, Commandant of the Marine Corps General Eric Smith, and SgtMaj of the Marine Corps Carlos Ruiz.

During a special Evening Parade, I had the privilege of joining @DanScavino, @RickyBuria and several government leaders to witness the historic performance while paying our respects to America’s warfighters.

It is disturbing that some military members think they can leverage foreign laws by moving their families overseas, only to divorce their spouses and abandon them with no means to return to the US.
This will not become a trend on my watch. My top priority is to take care of our Sailor and Marines and that includes their families.

The Marine Corps continues its efforts to reconnect with Marines who were separated under the COVID-19 vaccine mandate and provide eligible Marines an opportunity to return to service.
Through the COVID Reinstatement Cell, we have reached out to former Marines, helped guide them through the reinstatement process, and welcomed Marines back into the Corps.
Our work is not finished. If you were affected and have not yet connected with us, we want to hear from you. The opportunity to return remains open.
