The core competitiveness of the US financial system lies in one thing: 100% settlement for any transaction, at any time, and with any counterparty. This isn't a service; it's infrastructure.
Cryptocurrency is essentially turning this infrastructure into an open API, allowing the whole world to plug in and use it. No US account is needed, no waiting three days—a wallet is enough.
Therefore, Clarity isn't about regulation; it's about "enabling international roaming." US finance is the engine, crypto is the plug, and Clarity is the socket—once plugged in, the whole world can use this US settlement system.
the US sells certainty, crypto acts as the courier, and Clarity issues the pass.🫡🫡
Open source only works when there is real pricing for closed source alternatives. Stolen weights means mispriced anthropic property. It hurts anthropic and it hurts any efforts to openly train a fully open alternative. Pirated copies of windows hurt Linux adoption.
If you want real open weights to succeed, then you need to defend against stolen weights. Let Anthropic kyc everyone, so then there is much more value in contributing to a truly open trained open weight model.
If Unix and windows were free as in beer but not free as in speech, there would be no Linux, and pirates windows hurt Linux adoption.
Am I getting this right? On big questions, like where does consciousness come from, philosophers and physicists have basically made zero progress? Thanks. Just checking.
California is cooked. The state has no way to accurately price if housing construction in the marina is positive EV.
The only kind of yimby policies that can work is preventing the marina voters from blocking construction in San Jose or San Jose from forcing construction in the marina. Each city needs to decide if they want to be a boom town on their own.
Boom towns should be raising property taxes and maximizing construction and spending the money on improving family infrastructure, schools, healthcare, whatever the locals want. But they can’t, prop 13 won’t let them raise taxes, and the centralized state government controls the spending on the infrastructure. Thats how you end up with the progressive death loop. No local decision making, no self selection, everything is slopified.
Hundreds of #SanFrancisco# Marina residents turned out this evening for townhall on controversial @Safeway housing plan, which would place what for many is an uncomfortably tall, 22 & 18 story project at the low-slung neighborhood’s waterfront.
