The digital assets industry has seen the damage caused by fragmented regulation and regulation-by-enforcement. We shouldn't repeat it with event-contract markets. We support the @CFTC's Emergency Order and its efforts to preserve a consistent national market, protect consumers, and ensure American businesses can compete onshore.

Let’s keep going. “Cloture on the motion to proceed” = a vote to start debating Clarity. Next: Senate returns Sept 14, votes to open debate, then debates/amends it, then holds a final passage vote. Several steps still remain before it becomes law, but this is the first.

It’s ok to be disappointed. But the process continues. Filing the Clarity Act on the Senate Calendar before leaving town tees the bill up for September votes. We will not stop our advocacy as long as this bill remains alive. The work continues.

Misinformed and factually incorrect. This is extremely disappointing from the WSJ and begs the question of motive of something so riddled with misinformation. There is no evidence of deposit flight for small banks from stablecoin rewards. Furthermore, this bill specifically prohibits rewards that are functionally and economically similar to an interest bearing deposit. And I don’t know how to make this any clearer, but developers and infrastructure providers that do not custody funds should not be treated like banks. Those building the tools are wildly different than those running the banks.

Federal oversight exists for a reason. We stand with @Kalshi in defending the role of federally regulated markets and the need for clear, consistent rules across jurisdictions that support innovation.
Letitia James is suing a CFTC-licensed market and calling it "illegal gambling." Federal law already governs this. New York just doesn't like losing that fight. We will have @Kalshi's back.
