11/ Part I shows that Ethereum priority fee demand can be best understood as fragmented across distinct orderflow markets with unique demands and priorities. If you know or have met Ken, you can appreciate this tweet. If you don't, it is someone like him who I think of when I think of a passionate home staker and Ethereum lover.
This is not a new idea. I saw presentations on issuance reform as early as Devcon Bangkok and again this year in Cannes. The problems of unbounded stake growth and dilution have been known for years. IMHO (as a home staker and supporter of Ethereum), EIP-8361 is a minimal, market-driven response. Regardless of your position, I encourage everyone to engage seriously with the reasons and justifications behind this proposal rather than reacting viscerally and attacking the contributors for raising a difficult but important subject.

Tbf, it was not proposed late in the process at all. We have the PFI -> CFI -> SFI -> mainnet pipeline for 2 forks now, and the issuance eip, without judging its merits, has been proposed (alongside ~40 other EIPs) in time to be considered for next year's fork. PFI'ing is simple. The hard part is getting it CFI'd. EIPs have never been proposed so early before they can actually ship.

You mean a rational, well informed, solo staker is supportive of this EIP? This isn't meant to poke at people saying they aren't informed, but just take some time to cut through the noise and hear @nixorokish out.

@0xcyp solo staker here - i support the EIP. Ethereum doesn't exist to give me passive income, it's a service I choose to provide. i speak more as an ETH holder than as a staker: the issuance curve needs to change.

Just want to make sure all the solo and home stakers are safe out there. I keep seeing all the warnings that you are going to get "killed" and am quite worried.
Now is a great time to take a breather from the issuance debate and get up to speed on multi-party block construction.

Very pro APS and rainbow staking. I think these are crucial to make issuance more specific and get a way better curve! Honestly if we could stratify the responsibilities and the node operator set we could avoid a lot of drama. Make the network depend *less* on home stakers so that we can reduce issuance. I strongly support MVI. I think the proposal is a blunt tool when we can do precision changes in the future especially post LEAN. Validator set size is falling thanks to MEB, node count isnโ€™t validator count :)

Great heads up play by @dankrad on @Blockspace_ETH. ๐Ÿซก
The way to save Ethereum: The community needs to create an organization that's economically aligned with Ethereum and accountable to it. The EF now holds less than 0.1% of all ETH. There is no flow of Ethereum staking or fee revenues to it. If we want to get Ethereum back to winning: - create an organisation with credible funding, minimum $1b as a start. That's very reasonable for an ecosystem with $250b market cap - find a leader who is competent and wants to fight - make it accountable: a board of people who want ETH to go up, and a charter that holds the org accountable to it - fund it permanently: A significant amount of staking revenue needs to go to it. A governance mechanism that can adjust it (also part of accountability). Very hard to imagine now, but I think this is the only way (and it will probably happen, but it might take a long time before it is consensus).

1/3 We love Jane Streetโ€™s magic-trace. But most of our infrastructure runs on AMD, and magic-trace is Intel-only, so we built our own performance profiler for low-latency Rust pipelines and open-sourced it: flux-profiler. It produces traces fully compatible with magic-trace and the Perfetto UI. It was developed primarily for Linux x86-64. ARM and macOS have not been fully validated yet, so there may be some limitations. How it works: mark the functions you actually care about with #[timed], and it records every call with only ~14ns of hot-path overhead. Because you control the event volume, you can leave it running and capture hours of execution, not seconds. Below is a real trace of beacon state updates captured with flux-profiler and opened in the magic-trace viewer.

Excited to back the Blockspace team! Ethereumโ€™s core product is blockspace, and the infrastructure that delivers it should be as robust, open, and economically aligned with Ethereum as the protocol itself. This team has the depth and long term commitment to help make that happen.

Fix Ethereum's issuance policy.
๐Ÿšจ New EIP: Tapered Issuance Burn We just submitted an EIP to ethereum/EIPs: a minimal, market-driven fix to Ethereum's issuance policy removing the incentive for stake growth beyond 50% of ETH supply. EIP-8361 by @pintail_xyz, @jdetychey, @dapplion, @pa7x1, @ladislaus0x & @drakefjustin ๐Ÿงต

Excited to back such a great team building a better future for Ethereum. Congrats to @DrewVdW and the rest of the Blockspace team!
Ethereum produces the raw commodity. A supply chain outside the protocol refines it into blocks, and over 90% of blockspace runs through that supply chain today. We need commercially driven companies that are sustainable long term, with incentives that line up with Ethereum's. Super proud that @gattacahq & @ultrasoundmoney came together to lay the foundations for Blockspace to be one of them. And it's an honour to work with @DrewVdW, @mostlyblocks, and the Blockspace team to push this forward.

Ethereum's blockspace is one of its most valuable commodities. Sharplink supports innovation in this area as the institutional supercycle unlocks step-function growth for the ecosystem. That's why we're investing in @BlockSpace_ETH and their all-star team.
