Amazing how the think tank types cheering for open-ended Iran War and its limitless costs suddenly become budget hawks when ordinary Americans complain about food prices
Crazy WSJ story about how children are disappearing in America’s large cities: “An analysis found that birthrates in large urban counties fell 18% between 2010 and 2024, the biggest drop of any county type.”
Ok but we've known since last October there was a lot of info undermining the tattoo explanation - the only different information was her saying it on-record vs. on-background. The receipts: texts, multiple people who knew about it, was there last year.
“The tattoo should have been enough.”
Morris Katz, a top advisor to Graham Platner, now says in a New York Times interview that the Totenkopf tattoo, and other scandals, should have been disqualifiers for the former Maine Senate candidate.

Interesting WSJ piece on how Las Vegas being a luxury destination has destroyed the cheap buffet. In 2019, 28% of visitors were from six-figure-income households and it's now 75%. The cheap buffet has either disappeared or become $80.
The transformation of Haley Stevens’ voice from corporate HR manager to folksy Michigander has been remarkable to witness.
There is not a single authentic Democrat.
CNN: In private call, Michigan Republican running for Senate sees himself in “good shape” against one particular Democrat
“If he wins, I think we’re in good shape,” Mike Rogers said while responding to a question about his campaign’s strategy for El-Sayed. “I mean, I think he’s so radical. I think he’s going to lose big parts of the west part of the state. We think we can do well in part of the southeast part of the state. I think we’ll do well if he in fact is the nominee.”
Sorry for the long post, but this is super important.
This is my sweet daughter, Francesca, one month before she died of brain cancer. She never got the chance to build the life and legacy she deserved, so we are building one in her name.
Over the past six years, Team Beans has raised $3.7 million for infant brain tumor research. This year, we’ve raised $77,000 toward our $100,000 goal for Dana-Farber, and we are just $23,000 away.
I cannot overstate how important this funding is to Francesca’s doctors and researchers. It has already made a real difference: a clinical trial and registry for her type of cancer were created entirely because of the people who supported Team Beans.
Francesca was so full of life, even when she was sick. After watching this terrible disease take my child, helping find a cure became the cause of my life.
I ran two Boston Marathons to raise money, and I would run one every day if it meant helping cure this disease. Now, I ride the Pan-Mass Challenge every year for Francesca and for every baby still fighting.
Please consider supporting Team Beans in the PMC. Donate, share this post, or tell someone Francesca’s story. Every gift matters.
For Francesca. For every baby still fighting.
Senate GOP nominee Mike Collins’ campaign has removed from its website a picture of his family that includes his son-in-law, who has a history of posting antisemitic statements and white nationalist slogans and propaganda. #gapol#
NEW: @ZohranKMamdani is in "active conversation" with city lawyers over whether to arrest @netanyahu when he's in NYC for UNGA. Legal experts have raised doubts about this and the mayor said he's unsure of his legal authority to do it, but is studying it:
An updated statement from Collins’ camp:
“Rep. Collins has always condemned all forms of antisemitism, including this, and always will regardless of the source. Collins' lifelong support for Israel and the Jewish people is guided by his personal beliefs and backed by his consistent voting record.”
Fascinating WSJ story showing that many Booomers are not only not downsizing their homes, they're instead upsizing and getting large ones. Empty-nest baby boomers own 28% of U.S. homes with three bedrooms compared with 16% for millennials with children.
