Dave Regan, the @SEIU -UHW president and architect of California’s billionaire tax is under two union investigations that substantiated allegations of intimidation, attempted extortion, and a prior physical assault. He is now facing a federal racketeering suit from health clinics. The lawsuit alleged that he “instructed SEIU agents to tell Hispanic home care workers that if they did not vote for SEIU, ICE would be called and the workers would be deported.”  It’s always those who rail about such things that prove to be the most hypocritical.

I would be interested in a documentary about the person building rockets, autonomous cars, robots, a brain-computer interface, and tunnels who occasionally became a trillionaire — but the director’s clear bias makes this a predictable hit piece not rooted in truth.

Secretary Duffy on using AI to fix Air Traffic Control: We’re going to use AI. Right now, when there’s bad weather, we just shut down airspace. Sometimes you have a weather shutdown at an airport, you look outside, and it’s blue skies. You’re like, what’s going on? AI will help us find better routes through weather so we can keep airplanes flying — safely. New tools coming into the system to manage the flow of aircraft will make magic.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on Autonomous Vehicle Regulations: “My philosophy is this: if I move the regulations too slowly, we kill innovation, we kill the companies, or they’ll go overseas. If I go too fast and the AVs aren’t ready for the rules I give them, people get hurt. I have to find the Goldilocks approach — the right stage of where we are with AVs before we set them loose. “Congress has to say the federal government should regulate these standards. We shouldn’t have every state individually deciding yes or no, what they’ll allow and what they won’t. It’s a hodgepodge. Let us set one standard. That’s the biggest issue for AVs right now. “If you have an autonomous vehicle, do you need rearview mirrors? “Do you need windshield wipers? “Do you need a brake pedal and a gas pedal? “Do you need a steering wheel? “There are a whole bunch of conversations we have to have about what we think we need in an automobile versus what an autonomous vehicle actually should have.”

The President very astutely recognized there are millions of Americans who felt disenfranchised by the prior Administration’s attack on crypto. It’s time to get the Clarity Act, which will protect consumers, over the finish line. There is something in it for everyone: banks, law enforcement, crypto companies, and most importantly the American people.
