🚀 ICYMI: NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lifted off yesterday at 7:26 a.m. EDT aboard a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from NASA Kennedy's Launch Complex 39A in Florida!
Years of hard work and dedication from thousands of people all culminated in yesterday's liftoff, but for many, launch was just the beginning.
Over the first five years of observations, Roman will image more than 50 times as much sky as Hubble covered in 30 years and perform surveys that would take Hubble hundreds or even thousands of years!
Roman’s unprecedented observational capability will offer practically limitless opportunities for astronomers to explore a broad range of cosmic phenomena for years to come.
