Each booster is made of 10 massive segments delivering more than 75% of the Space Launch System rocket’s total thrust at launch.

🚀A new CubeSat called R5 S9 launched on the Transporter 17 mission with SpaceX from SLC-4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base on July 7! Built with commercial off the shelf components, the spacecraft advances rapid and low cost development approaches.
The mission was manifested for NASA by @SEOPSLLC and carries prototypes from Sandia National Laboratories and The Aerospace Corporation, including autonomous observation technology and a low cost optical communication system.

Two missions – one epic arrival to NASA Kennedy!
The 310-foot-long barge carried NASA’s Roman telescope and the Artemis III weather cover.
Roman will reveal billions of galaxies, hundreds of thousands of new exoplanets, hundreds of blackholes, and will provide vast volumes of daily data for astronomers to study.
The Artemis weather cover will protect the rocket’s thermal systems in its short stack configuration while at the launch pad.

NASA Kennedy leaders and Visitor Complex partners marked the start of construction on a new attraction near Space Shuttle Atlantis. The future experience will give guests another way to explore NASA’s history and the missions shaping the future of exploration.
The new attraction is expected to open in 2028.
