Stunningly, even narcissistically confident in their often ill-informed opinions ("you know, everyone reasonable thinks like me"), surprised and offended at any hint of disagreement; unimpressed by the merely factual; purposefully and viciously reputation-savaging. I've met many of them. GQ's Helen Lewis perhaps tops the list, although Decca Aitkenhead of the Sunday Times was a real contender on the deceitful manipulation side. Then there was the NY Times's Nellie Bowles-—not British, admittedly, but evil enough to be. She outright admitted some years after the interview that she spent her time at the New York Times, destroying people purposefully to elevate her own status. Elon kept his composure and his wit. This Bill will require An Garda Síochána to compile statistical data on the nationality and immigration status of convicted persons, published annually to the Oireachtas and the public. 40% of TikTok’s Irish workforce face redundancy. 667 jobs out of 1778 to be cut. However, 321 new roles will be created under new ai restructure. Microsoft also announced this week it was cutting 4,800 jobs globally. Meta announced in May that 350 jobs in Dublin were at risk, on top of around 750 jobs at Covalen, a major Meta contractor. That’s about 2000+ jobs lost in total if we also include Diageo, Oracle, Genpact etc. Each will be entitled to new jobseeker scheme: €450 per week for first 13 weeks, €375 per week for next 13 weeks, and €300 per week for final 13 weeks. €14,625 per person over 39 weeks!

Is there a link between heatwaves & violence? A 2021 Lancet study found rising temperatures are associated with more homicides, sex offences, and assaults. For every 5°C rise in daily temperature predicted a 4.5% jump in sex offences over the following week. They call it "heat-induced physiological stress".
