Two names reported excellent data. Both became victims of weak biotech sentiment, and the shorts took full advantage. $PCVX: Added a meaningful position around $65 (posted on X). $VKTX: Added a large position through January 2028 LEAPS below $30. Own shares as well. It's all about sentiment. Most biotech stocks have sold off amid seasonal weakness and rising yields. The fundamentals did not deteriorate. The data remains intact. When risk appetite returns and biotech sentiment improves, these are the kinds of opportunities that, in hindsight, reward patient shareholders the most.

🚨🚨Zinedine Zidane blasts Jorge Jesus over the tension with Cristiano Ronaldo: “I don’t like talking about other coaches’ dressing rooms. Usually I prefer to stay quiet. But some things you feel immediately when you have lived with a player like Cristiano. You cannot call a man of that stature into the squad, take him to the match, warm him up, and then treat him as if he is just another name on the list. That is not managing a team. That is forgetting who is in front of you. Cristiano is 41. Everyone knows that. I knew it when I coached him. His body is not the same. His minutes have to be chosen with intelligence. Nobody serious is asking him to run like he did at 26. That is not the discussion. The discussion is respect. If you select him, it is because you understand what he still represents. Not only the goals. The presence. The demand. The history he carries for Portugal. You do not use that history when it is useful and put it in a drawer when you want to show that the coach decides everything. A coach always decides. That is normal. I decided many times at Madrid who started and who sat. Cristiano accepted it when the relationship was clear. What a player of that level does not accept is being made to look small in public. If you need him for twenty minutes, prepare those twenty minutes. If the game changes and you do not need him, explain it like a man, before, not after he has been running on the touchline. Do not leave a champion standing there so that people understand who is in charge. Everyone already understands who is in charge. I worked with him. I know what he gives a dressing room even when he does not play 90 minutes. I also know what it costs a coach later if a player of that magnitude feels he was used, then discarded, just to make a point. The Nations League will pass. The next match will come. Jorge will prepare another team. Cristiano will remember how he was treated. You do not have to start him every time. You do not have to protect his ego at the expense of the team. But after everything he has given that shirt, you owe him something simple: dignity. A great player can accept being on the bench. He cannot accept being treated as if his name no longer means anything.”

Duarte Santos, president of Portuguese club Andorinha, based on the island of Madeira: “It’s a sad day for Portuguese football, a sad day for world football, and a sad day for us Portuguese people. Considering the way Ronaldo left the national team. In short, they set a trap for him and got him into trouble, and he really didn’t deserve that. If they had no intention of relying on Ronaldo, they should have, being mature people, made that clear before announcing the squad. Things never needed to go this far; to exclude the best player in the world, the best player at the moment, and the best Portuguese player. It’s not simply a matter of patience; it’s the nature of a footballer’s career. Everyone who works in this field, whether coach or player, understands that this will happen sooner or later. The whole process was illogical and disrespectful, and he didn’t deserve to be treated that way. Ronaldo remains Ronaldo, and he always will. Even after 100 years, Ronaldo will still be Ronaldo. We will always love him, and children will love him too. Here, no one would ever do that to him. If he ever comes back one day, we will celebrate him, embrace him, and give him all our support, because he truly deserves it.”

🇮🇳 REMEMBER THIS MAN: CAPTAIN SMIT MACHCHHAR. An Indian captain flying hundreds of people from Dubai to Tel Aviv was stabbed in his own cockpit. Wounded, bleeding, with the aircraft plunging thousands of feet, he fought back. Then passengers and crew did something extraordinary: They stormed the cockpit. They restrained the attacker. Other pilots took control. And that plane LANDED. Hundreds of families got their loved ones back today because ordinary people refused to freeze when everything went wrong. Captain Smit Machchhar — India and the whole WORLD should be proud of you. 🇮🇳 And to the passengers and crew who ran toward the danger instead of away from it: Heroes. Every single one of you. This is what courage looks like.

It’s the pilot who saved everyone!
A few thoughts about the narrowly averted disaster aboard the flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv today: 1. There were multiple failures here, including that the co-pilot and apparent perpetrator wasn't flagged in advance and that he was able to conceal and use a weapon of some sort to attack the captain while they were locked in the cockpit. 2. Flydubai is a government-owned airline and this incident is deeply embarrassing to both the airline and the UAE government. Emirati authorities will do everything in their considerable power to investigate what happened and prevent it from reoccurring. 3. The UAE is the only country in the world, aside from Israel, whose airlines have flown to and from Israel almost without interruption since October 7, 2023. The UAE has proven to be a deeply committed friend of Israel's and the Emiratis ascribe tremendous importance to both the bilateral relationship between the two countries and the maintenance of the air link between them. Flydubai's Tel Aviv route is one of the airline's busiest and most frequent, with up to ten daily flights in each direction. All of this reinforces the previous point: the Emiratis will do whatever they can to prevent this from happening again. 4. The only reason everyone on the plane is alive is because of the Israeli passengers who decided to take matters into their own hands, break into the cockpit, subdue the perpetrator, and enable the plane to land safely. This is a tremendous testament to their heroism and bravery and to the Israeli spirit that has shown itself throughout Israel's existence and particularly during the past three years. 5. A word of appreciation for Saudi authorities, who—by all accounts—handled this incident with great professionalism, coordinated closely with Israeli authorities, and treated the passengers with courtesy and care. I am surely not the only Israeli who breathed a sigh of relief knowing that the plane had landed in Saudi Arabia. I'm not sure that would have been the case just a few years ago.
