My American Lending Fairness Act passed committee today. ✅
It protects borrowers' freedom to shop for whatever loan works best for them, regardless of which state the lender is chartered in. It also puts state-chartered banks and credit unions on equal footing with the largest national banks.
More lenders competing for business means better rates for borrowers. I urge my colleagues to support it, and look forward to a full House vote.

The Federal Reserve should not be able to decide who gets access to the payments system based on insider status.
If an institution meets the legal standard for a master account, the Fed should not move the goalposts.
