Here’s what I would do if I was a crypto creator starting from 0. 1) FIND YOUR USP (unique sales proposition, a.k.a your style) -Are you a dev who explains technical topics? -Are you a digital nomad building a product? -Are you a hot girl with selfies that get 700 likes just for a GM? -Are you going to do comedy and incorporate crypto themes? -Are you a fintech influencer who talks about banks and ETFs? Whatever it is, find it quick. This is the reason why brands will hire *you* over another creator. There’s no wrong answers here but your USP has to fit like a glove. Otherwise creating will feel uncomfortable. 2) BE AS VISIBLE AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE -Engage a ton with brands you like ($0) -Join spaces and even better, livestreams ($0) -Go to events if you can (this requires $ but start close to home) -Go on podcasts ($0) The more your face and username is seen, the quicker you’ll gain traction. 3) BECOME YOUR OWN PR AGENT As a creator, you’re building a brand. Any brands needs: - announcements and updates - continuous social media presence - to create and distribute narratives - opinions that will attract the right brands Start thinking like a Comms/ PR person who’s representing a client. You are your first, only, and most important client. 4) PARTNER WITH COMMUNITIES I’m not going to sugarcoat this. When you start, nobody’s gonna give a f. This is why you need to find out how you can bring enough value to established brands/ communities that will repost you. It’s as simple as that. When I started, I posted and promoted @shefiorg non-stop. Then @BoysClubWorld. Then @LC. Thanks to their reposts, I gained my first couple hundred followers. So find the brands that you resonate with, and start bringing value. 5) GET GUD TECH You don’t need to drop $7k on a camera from day 1. But if you’re serious about becoming a creator, you’ll need great visuals. A janky Android or an iPhone 13 won’t do it. A DJI osmo is about ~$600 and a perfect tool to get you started. You can get a set of DJI mini mics with it for another hundred bucks or so. Quality tech will pay off over and over again, and very often you’ll make all the money back with 1-2 jobs. 6) BECOME A BIG FISH IN A SMALL POND You may think that picking a niche is limiting and annoying (to be fair, it is) but if you promote every brand on the face of X, you won’t be known for anything. A fintech creator will gain traction and brand deals way quicker than a creator that hops from memecoins to AI to banks to prediction markets. Picking a niche = becoming a big fish in a small pond. After you’ve outgrown your pond, you’ll expand. Your goal is to become the de-facto creator brands in that niche hire. 7) DON’T FADE AI Some creators hate AI. They think it *might* steal their jobs. But if you don’t use AI, those who do, will *definitely* steal your job. Here are a few ways you can use AI while keeping creative control and humanity: - content topic research - color grading - editing effects - music - creating a (non-cringe pls) avatar - shortening / improving captions - clipping videos - repurposing content - cataloguing inspiration from other creators 8) CREATE NATIVELY The ultimate goal is to be on every major platform: X, TikTok, instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube But. These platforms love native content made just for them. A TikTok video that gets 100k views might flop on instagram because you didn’t use the right font or transitions. Start slow and put effort into adapting your content for each platform so it can push you. If you shoot raw files, you’re only spending a few more min editing. Then, study the content that crushes on each platform, and make that. Ok I’m running out of characters. Let’s wrap this post here. AMA

Today’s failure to advance the CLARITY Act is disappointing. But it doesn’t change the underlying reality: digital assets and stablecoins are becoming part of the global financial system. The question is where that innovation gets built.

Quick story time. It took me FOREVER to get my first job in crypto. It was 2023 and I already had 8+ years experience in mainstream marketing including working as a copywriter for a business that spent $10M on Facebook ads per year. And yet - I was no one in crypto. And blockchain seemed very technical and confusing. But I liked the culture. And I loved that the people working in crypto seemed to be: A) genius but socially awkward B) ADHD/ autistic spectrum C) doing their own thing away from the system So I was super determined to get involved. I even remember applying for unpaid internships even though I was insanely overqualified. (Funny that 2 years later, I’d be sitting at an invite-only dinner in Cannes across from the person that rejected me for an unpaid internship and they’d be asking me for media tips lol) Anyway. I wanted a job, fast. And I knew that learning about coding from zero and becoming a dev would take ages. Instead, I decided to do 2 things I had control over: 1) lead with the skills I had that crypto-native people didn’t seem to have 2) become as visible as possible by joining discords, communities, and posting here And damn it, it worked. I joined the @shefiorg course around September 2023. I posted about the things I was learning to 0 followers, then 10 followers, then 100 followers… Then, I started going to small Ethereum events around Europe. I paid for travel and hotels out of my own pocket with the money I was making from my coaching business on instagram. Then, in July 2024, I applied for a job and FINALLY got a response. That came after sending idk how many hundreds of applications. I saw the job on the @BoysClubWorld discord. My instinct was correct - this job required PR, media, and writing skills. I had all of that. And by July, I had a decent knowledge of the crypto space (mostly the culture but some tech, too). I got the job. It was my first real crypto job with a good paycheck. 10 months later, I got an offer from Cointelegraph. I started producing media content on @gazza_jenks’s team. That’s when the cool experiences started coming - free tickets to the F1, super yachts, a reception at Napoleon’s townhouse in Paris, etc. Ultimately, I got my job at WalletConnect where in the last nearly 2 years I’ve gotten a lot more technical. Another funny thing happened during this whole time - Crypto and mainstream tech started intertwining. If you’re a mainstream marketer pivoting to crypto now, you’d be in a lot more demand than I was in 2023 because now everyone wants to get out of the crypto bubble and reach more people. Anyway, sharing this because I saw someone post about internship roles. If I had a chance to travel back to 2023, I would do it all again. I love working in crypto. Hope reading this inspires you somehow. As always - AMA

BIG week for WalletConnect, here’s a recap in case you missed it: > we rolled out a 67-page report on compliance and regulation with contributions from 11 global leaders in tech, legal, and finance. > announced a call for guests for season 2 of the @WalletConnect podcast in Singapore and got completely booked out in less than 48h with people hosts typically chase for months. > our CEO @Houlgrave was in NYC at the Bloomberg @crypto studio where she discussed stablecoin use cases and regulation with @scarletfu and @timsteno. > the team went to @thestablecon, Jess was on stage with @Payoneer and @crossriverbank (sidebar/ my favorite trick is to post about this panel right as they were coming off stage to get the “how did you do that? You were just with us on stage!” effect for her - this was prime team work.) > we hosted a policy roundtable with a group of decision-makers alongside @crossriverbank and @DigitalChamber. TLDR; lots of very important finance and law people in one room. And me? Well, it’s my job to stay on top of it all and make sure you see everything as it happens. What do you want to know about running social media for a big brand? AMA
