NU7 is coming! All of the Zcash development orgs have come to unanimous agreement about the contents and timeline of our next network upgrade, following the sentiment collection results earlier this week.

Announcing our funding agreement with @Ledger.
The agreement supports the work required to integrate the new Zcash Ironwood pool into Ledger devices.
As a result of this agreement, Zcash coin holders will be able to use their ledger devices to self-custody their Zcash in the latest Ironwood pool.
We are committing USD 80,000 toward this integration and are excited about the impact this will create for the Zcash coin holders.

The zcash coin holder vote results are in!
Record high participation levels, 2.4M zec voted, and for context the pool had 3.6M zec at snapshot height. Record high (66%) levels of participation!

This is awesome! Fixes the problem persistent to most SNARKs - we are massively overpaying for ZK.

Been a couple days. I have downloaded @vizorwallet as well and also tested out a cross-chain swap from within a wallet.
This is the first time ever that I've literally wanted to own more of a crypto so I can use it. The psychological comfort of not being spied on AND being able to spend it however I want?

New Zakura Release: 1.4.0
Latency reductions across the board. Faster block propagation. Fast proving for block templates that use shielded coinbase (for mining pools).
And on an iPhone 17, proving is now 21x faster overall since Zakura started!

675% faster in 24 days, on a desktop. 2-3x those gains on recent iPhones.
The COINBASE_MATURITY rule applies to transparent coinbase outputs, but not to shielded outputs. You can spend your newly mined ZEC immediately -- as long as you mine to a shielded address!
Zakura makes that way more practical by speeding up shielded coinbase getblocktemplate!
