@rotkiapp is one of my favourite crypto apps, one of the few to treat data privacy and self-sovereignty seriously. Also good builders, worth supporting.
Humanity using its potential to the fullest.
Absolutely INSANE rollecoaster on the Ronaldo Cry market ! > Portugal loses > Ronaldo walks out of the field with a poker face *odds drop from 80% to 13%* > camera pans to him again, he's crying *odds skyrocket to a peak of 96%* > traders realize you can't see tears in the clip, which could make it a NO by the rules *odd drop to 34%* --> You are here. There is now an ongoing search for Christiano's tear. Traders a scrutinizing every angle of every camera to find the evidence that might resolve this market

Who would have thought that the best gym bro I ever had would be my own son? Huh.
I met @BrantlyMillegan a few years ago at some crypto conference. This was already after heโ€™d been publicly canceled, yet he was there promoting ENS and talking to anyone willing to chat about setting up ENS domains and all the cool things you could do with them. Itโ€™s a big loss for ENS, but Iโ€™m sure that whatever he takes up next, heโ€™ll be able to make a dent in the universe with it.

the .eth comes off, the end of a chapter for me I have decided to move on from ENS, given recent events and other reasons. I'm grateful for my time with ENS and I wish everyone well going forward This includes winding down @ethidorg. I and my incredible teammates are open to new opportunities, DMs are welcome. My team has been amazing! Any of them would make a great addition to your team: @0xthrpw @encrypteddegen @sat_eth @jalilwahdat @quantumly ๐Ÿ”ฅ Re our projects like @grailsmarket, @ensmarketbot, @efp, etc: Thank you to all of our users, we appreciate you! Most of these projects will sunset over the next few weeks (tho code remains open source), more information will be posted later Godspeed everyone ๐Ÿค

Happy 4th of July to all my American friends. Here's to the next 250 years!
You need to read this before you criticize (or glorify) anyoneโ€™s BD efforts in this space, this game is different than what most are used to from the common sense.
I sincerely doubt the number is that high. Insane if so. But the point about using a low float high FDV token to strike deals for exclusive integrations still stands. People used to say to me all the time at Euler: โ€œdo more BD.โ€ But lack of integrations almost always was nothing to do with BD efforts. Very few people we didnโ€™t speak to during my time there. It almost always came down to money. โ€œSo and so are offering X millions for an exclusive integration, what can you do?โ€ I assume most of those types of deals were done with tokens and not real $ because the numbers were often eye watering. And we had 1/100th of budget or less than competitors because of the depressed EUL token price. So we would always get excluded or pushed aside once someone else came in. Sometimes people talked to us enthusiastically one day and completely ghost us the next once theyโ€™d agreed a deal elsewhere. With the benefit of hindsight I think we should have tried to take Euler private and start again with the token. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. It wasnโ€™t the same regulatory environment as we have now and there were lots of arguments against doing that. The point is that you really need a highly valued token to compete for liquidity and integrations in lending though. The tech is very much secondary to your ability to pay in the early years to bootstrap liquidity and integrations. It does make me wonder what will happen when all these pay to play token holders start to take profit after vesting ends or hedge out their exposure though.

Huge congrats to @RobinhoodApp and @Offchain on Robinhood Chain mainnet going live ๐ŸŽ‰, and shoutout to the teams already shipping on day one! Companies choosing to build on Ethereum is the trend we love to see. Our assessment of Robinhood Chain is coming soon, stay tuned ๐Ÿ‘€

Huge congrats to @Offchain and @RobinhoodApp. This is a big deal, and a big day. I'm looking forward to seeing what gets built on top of Robinhood Chain. There is clearly a lot of potential here, and Robinhood seems hungry to unlock it. Let's see whether crypto and programmable assets can become the advantage that takes financial products to the next level. At the same time, I'm pretty curious how this plays out for Arbitrum One, because Robinhood Chain sounds a lot like Arbitrum Two. Since it's an Orbit chain, there should be a sequencer revenue split, but iirc only ~8% goes to the DAO - and the network effects may compound on the other chain instead. We've seen with Optimism and Base how this can create real tensions. But I can also see ways this becomes a win-win. Either way, it will be exciting to watch it unfold.

Watching this interview made me really sad. I had to take a break and go play some video games. To some extent I feel for Nick, I understand his pov and canโ€™t blame him for playing it safe. Yet still, itโ€™s such a waste and such an L for the whole space. โ€žYou were the Chosen One! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them! Bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!โ€ Fortunately, tomorrow is another day, and we can just keep building.

Why does ENS need its own token instead of just voting with ETH? Because someone rich enough could buy the ETH and grief the protocol. Kain: "You're talking about Tom Lee?" Nick Johnson: "No, it's Vitalik, to be honest." ๐Ÿ˜‚

Being the best technical choice out there is often not enough to justify deployment in an institutional context. You need people you can actually work with - people who will help you navigate the nuances, choose the right partners, and provide third-party attestation that what you're doing is legit. Not to mention the "boring" BD outreach and familiarity building. It's great to see yet another top-notch Ethereum-native team dedicate themselves to this work. Fingers crossed and LFG!

Congrats to @ethereuminsti on the launch! Ethereumโ€™s institutional adoption needs focused engagement, practical guidance, and someone to point them toward the CROPS-aligned integrations that a neutral foundation makes possible. Great to see a team dedicated to that work!

donโ€™t let nick fool you into thinking that the security council is acting outside its stated purpose:
The main issue with ENS DAO, and with most DAOs Iโ€™m familiar with, is not that someone is trying to capture the DAO. That happens in those other DAOs too, just less openly. The problem is that there is no real alternative on the table, so the proposal to capture the DAO starts to look reasonable. The DAO itself - understood as the collective of tokenholders and delegates - has failed to organize around any credible alternative. That means the capture can be framed as pure operational optimization: this is the only path forward, and the DAO is effectively forced to accept whatever the steward proposes. So why keep the friction of a DAO vote? The issue is that, under this framework, the governance token makes no sense and should go to 0. That is the fair price of a governance token without meaningful governance. If you want your governance token to be worth something, prioritize governance before treasury or operational optimization, so the latter follows from the former. Itโ€™s hard, but itโ€™s the only way. Otherwise youโ€™re cooked anyway, and no amount of operational excellence will save you.

You probably know me as the guy who is bearish on DAOs. But I want to set the record straight regarding the ENS DAO. ENS Labs is trying to create the narrative that the ENS Protocol is failing because of the DAO and its politics. Yet it's labs that has been developing and doing protocol BD the last 4 years and all numbers are indeed down because of them. The DAO has in fact created a huge community of people and companies that built around and supported ENS to help it grow to where it is today. Without a doubt, if it was not for the DAO the ENS protocol would not be where it is today. But Labs is failing in the way they develop and market ENS to new blood. And with the market being down, they probably see the writing on the wall so they thought they should just create a narrative for DAO bad -> we good that will allow them to steal the DAO's treasury so they can continue to operate despite their incompetence safely for decades into the future. The DAO was decentralized 5 years ago but as ENS Labs tokens started vesting they now effectively are in control. And instead of nurturing the very thing that brought them where they are they seem to be robbing it of its treasury so they can continue their operations. Shameful behavior.
