2026 is indeed proving to be an inflection point. the pace of progress across the field continues to validate our conviction that AI will fundamentally reshape how medicines are discovered. at the same time, the progress inside @metanova_labs reinforces our belief that decentralized, incentive-driven networks have a meaningful role to play in that future. this half marked a few important milestones for us, most importantly, moving beyond computational discovery. couldn't be more excited for the months ahead!

People are already paranoid that their devices are reading their thoughts (they are). Imagine now. God help us all not even thoughts are safe anymore. Jesus Christ.

every time i interact with a bank or government i get more pilled. u mean… i owe u half no matter where i live? ur website only works during business hours? it will take 2-3 days to transfer? months to set up? [more egregious examples redacted] it’s either inevitable global adoption or irreversible forking. not much of a gamble to bet the digitally native side wins.

appreciate not only this s/o but also every inevitably deep convo @pennapdr and i have had with @capradavis and @Old_Samster it’s ultra rare to have an investment group DD domain-specific micro and macro overall huge validation for building on #bittensor# and the @CrucibleLabs team’s role in taking us to the next level

1) cracked team with strong industry experience + connections (easily the top 1-2 in all of desci imo), 2) structural advantage in accuracy, cost and speed in early stage discovery that scales in tandem with advancements in frontier, open-source model releases (boltz-2, boltzgen), 3) insane blueskies scenario (token would like 5x overnight lol), but still a very good base case as well, 4) actually doing real science (i say this as a desci lover)

the trend is clear: more restrictions, less access. the opportunity cost: discoveries that never happen. building permissionless infrastructure for scientific innovation is more important than ever. humans are notoriously bad at reasoning over long time horizons that extend beyond tribal boundaries. gates of all kinds may grant companies and governments the illusion of protection, but they rarely work and ultimately reduce the probability of a breakthrough. @metanova_labs we're building a decentralized global engine for drug discovery. we're not waiting for the gates to lock to get started.

Geopolitical conservatism in biotech risks becoming anti-progress. Biosecurity matters but scientific talent is globally distributed and the tools for discovery should be too. @metanova_labs mission is more important than ever. Decentralized, permissionless infrastructure isn't just an ideological position — it's a practical response to a growing problem that ultimately affects all of us. Immigration to the global centers where institutions, capital, and infrastructure are concentrated is harder than ever. At the same time, access to frontier AI is increasingly determined by jurisdiction. As evidenced by @AnthropicAI recent restrictions on Fable and others, the tools that enable scientific discovery are becoming concentrated within a relatively small number of (or single) countries. This has implications for who can contribute to scientific innovation and from where. Roughly 2/3 of Nobel science laureates were not born in the United States, and approximately 40% of U.S. Nobel science prizes awarded since 2000 went to immigrants. Meanwhile, proposals such as a $100k H-1B fee, travel restrictions affecting dozens of countries, and compute export controls under the BIS AI Diffusion Framework are making participation in frontier research increasingly unequal. If similar restrictions had existed throughout the last century, many of the discoveries, companies, and medicines we rely on today may never have emerged. #Bittensor# offers a market-driven alternative for coordinating talent, capital, compute, and scientific innovation across borders.

From openly blocking models for relevant pharma problems, to silently reducing Fable capabilities for frontier AI research, to now fully blocking the use of Fable, the signal is clear. There has never been a more relevant and exciting time to be building in the open, right at the critical intersection of AI and drug development. This is where incentivised open science will lead. #Bittensor#

ICYMI: how @metanova_labs is incentivizing quality and novelty in virtual drug discovery through permissionless competition.
really exciting to present @metanova_labs vision and all of our progress to a packed room @proofoftalk
We have found crypto to be incredibly effective at incentivizing quantity AND quality with the right incentive design. For example in only 2 weeks running our nanobody design competition we saw: • Binding confidence: up ~3x from first to last submission • Structural fit: uncertainty at the interface dropped by nearly half • Hydrogen bonds: grow steadily across all designs. As well as in our chemical search algorithm competition, where a miner introduced an optimization strategy never applied to drug discovery before (not just quality but novelty). This strategy has continued to be improved across challenges and consistently outperforms a published benchmark across different targets. You can see our progress live on our dashboard:

newfound hope for a diagnosis that was once synonymous with a statistical death sentence. the value of these results is immeasurable. health is the highest-leverage investment of our time, attention, technology, and capital. @metanova_labs we are building a new decentralized approach to drug discovery with the goal of making that investment more efficient, open, and capable of coordinating different forms of intelligence toward therapeutic progress.

new update incentivizes NOVA Blueprint miners to develop algorithms that can efficiently discover more novel molecular scaffolds rather than converging around variations of the same ones finding entirely new entry points is where the greatest value creation can happen and could eventually lead to: - first-in-class therapeutics - treatments for diseases with limited or inadequate standards of care - entirely new categories of drugs - and unexplored regions of chemical spaces that traditional pipelines may never reach otherwise

New NOVA Blueprint update We are making our chemical search competition significantly more exploration-focused. Starting Wed May 20, 2026 00:00 UTC, submissions containing molecules that are too chemically similar to each other will be rejected entirely. Why this matters: In real drug discovery campaigns, the most valuable search strategies are not the ones that generate many near-identical molecules around the same idea. The real challenge is finding multiple distinct scaffolds that perform well. Once you discover a promising scaffold, generating variations around it is relatively easy. What is hard — and far more valuable — is exploring chemical space broadly enough to uncover entirely new starting points. That is why we originally introduced entropy thresholds in Blueprint, and this new update pushes that philosophy further. We are explicitly rewarding algorithms that: - explore broadly - surface diverse chemical ideas - avoid collapsing into narrow clusters of near-duplicates The goal is not just higher scores but rather better chemical navigation strategies for real-world discovery. This update should lead to: * more novel molecular starting points * stronger search algorithms * and ultimately better drug discovery systems #Bittensor# #SN68# #DrugDiscovery# #AI# #DeSci#

I developed severe side effects from repeated corticosteroid use. my dog did too. NOVA's miners are now competing to find a more precise alternative for controlling inflammation. the TAM is massive and includes any species we're willing to spend money on. I remember not being able to sleep (crying) at night while simultaneously recovering from severe poison ivy and bed bug bites with no effective treatment option. (pouring one out for my college housemate for having his crusty climbing friend stay over and my stint at the ecology lab). I know I would have paid anything just to sleep through the night. add my willingness to spend on my pet's healthcare and global trends. boom.

Long-term corticosteroid use is associated to many serious health conditions like osteoporosis, cataracts and glaucoma, besides wreaking havoc on metabolism. For many autoimmune disorder patients though, it's the price they have to pay for controlling inflammation. IL-6 works as a major inflammation amplifier in the body and targeting it can lead to more precise therapeutics that can help these patients avoid corticosteroid use altogether.

NOVA continues to expand across therapeutic modalities and targets, demonstrating the flexibility of incentive-driven discovery and its potential for scalable drug r&d and partnerships. after receiving 8,446 unique nanobody submissions for PD-L1 (and seeing rapid improvement across confidence and physical interaction metrics) we are now moving the NOVA nanobody competition to IL-6 in partnership w/ @Yalotein IL-6 is one of the central cytokines behind inflammation and immune regulation and a clinically validated pathway behind multi-billion dollar autoimmune drugs. seeing measurable improvement emerge from open competition this quickly is really exciting. we are now applying the same decentralized discovery framework to a very different therapeutic area with implications across inflammation and immune modulation. these are core biological processes underlying aging and many of the most common chronic diseases affecting humanity. the ability to precisely modulate immune signaling could become one of the defining therapeutic frontiers of this century. interested in scaling discovery? contact us.

New NOVA nanobody target is live: IL-6 (Interleukin-6) IL-6 is one of the central signaling proteins behind inflammation and immune regulation. When dysregulated, it has been implicated in: - autoimmune disorders - chronic inflammation - neuroinflammation - blood-brain barrier disruption Making it a highly relevant target for inflammatory, neurological, and immune-related diseases. The IL-6 inhibitor market is already worth billions annually, with drugs targeting this pathway generating multi-billion dollar revenues across autoimmune and inflammatory indications, validating both the biological and commercial importance of the target. Miners across NOVA will now compete to design nanobodies targeting IL-6 in an open, adversarial discovery environment. Top submissions may also be selected for wet lab validation through our partnership with @Yalotein, helping close the loop between decentralized virtual screening and real-world biologics development. #Bittensor# #SN68# #DrugDiscovery# #Biotech# #Nanobodies# #DeSci#
